It was already easy to play Windows-only games in GNU/Linux and it was made even easier with the release of version 1.2 of “WINE Is Not an Emulator” or simply “WINE”.
3,000 bug fixes and 23,000 changes in just 2 years of active development. Not to mention 64-bit, IPv6, and more effects supported, WINE 1.2 is simply a must for every gamer and non-gamer Linux user.
I am a fan of sending my “Now Listening” updates to my Instant Messenger networks. I went back to using Psi+ IM – an XMPP/Jabber client – a few days ago and Rhythmbox lacks Psi-IM support.

After taking a bath (gamers do take baths you know :p ) I realized how blessed I am to have been born in 1982 (the early years of Generation Y). Why? When I was growing up, I was there when electronic gaming – PC in particular – was in its childhood years.
Lord of Ultima™ is the latest browser online game from Electronic Arts®, developed by Phenomic®. It is a browser-based, time-based strategy MMOG, an empire building game.
But despite its title and the typography of the word “Ultima”, it is not related to Richard Garriott’s popular RPG franchise Ultima or Ultima Online – not at all. I am telling you that early to save you from disappointment not like the lot of us currently playing this game.
When the game first launched in closed beta test last May 7th, it received thousands of players and countless of visitors to the official website. Through the community’s help, the developers were able to squash as many bugs as possible – especially those that are causing game breakages.
Most of it are now gone, in just under one month.
It took me hours to figure out what works and what doesn’t with their supposedly “new” Yahoo! Profile service (which includes following their links from here to there and never back). So to save you from pulling your hair out or kicking your AVR or punching your monitor (or prevent you from realizing that Yahoo should probably have sold itself to Google so their engineers and web developers can fix this mess), I am sharing with you what little I found.

The Mummy Online is a free-to-play browser-based MMORPG set in Egypt during the first half of the twentieth century. Players will be able to explore the world of The Mummy while battling hordes of dead come alive because of another curse or guardian or evil dreaming of conquering the world.
Sooner or later, Foursquare must standardize it’s venue naming convention. Truth be told, it should be now not later. Venue naming is already chaotic and it only adds more duplicate venues than before.
I even saw one user entering the same venue 4 times and another venue 5 times! Why? The venue can be written in different ways. I can say this guy is a seasoned Foursquare user because he added a lot of other venues, we can assume that he is aware of the rules and guidelines in entering a new venue.
Last night, I was on my home when I saw an on-going rescue to help a man who went up at the tallest billboard in EDSA corner of Quezon Avenue. The man wants to commit suicide or so it appears from everyone at the ground.
Here are some of my thoughts and report of what happened from the ground (the reactions of the people, their views, sentiments) and the objective of the man who went all the way up of the billboard, endangering his own life as well as others.
Wow, this is every gamers dream – a real-life experience of a virtual world game! Welcome to Game Nation, the world’s first experiential video game theme partk and resort!!
They said it themselves: Your dreams and fantasies will come to life in adventures yet to be told. You will become anything you like and live out the character you create. But this is no game. It’s real.
SM Cyberzone officially launched on April 30th at SM Southmall, Las Piñas City. For those who are not familiar or just took the “SM Cyberzone” area for granted, it is a project of SM Supermalls in creating the best I.T. hubs in the Philippines.
But if like us you are a regular of SM Mall of Asia then you already know about the project since two years ago. I think the SM Cyberzone at SM Mall of Asia was a trial run, a sort-of live sandbox.
I have been fixing Foursquare venue entries for three weeks now and I keep on seeing the same problems over and over again. Duplicate entries, wrong addresses, venues that are supposed to be different but not, and different formatting or the lack thereof.
Officially, there are no standard formatting for venue names other than using the establishment’s “official” name. For example, instead of Starbucks it must be Starbucks Coffee; instead of Kenny Rogers the correct name to use is Kenny Rogers Roasters. Additionally, there is no way in their current system to avoid the creation of duplicate entries and wrong addresses, most of these are coming from their mobile apps particularly the Foursquare iPhone app.
