After Mikey Arroyo responded to the media to have Facebook and the Internet regulated and was posted in several blogs. Several readers had very harsh comment about it.
The problem with Mikey is that he can’t keep his mouth shut. We have a saying in Filipino. “Ang pikon talo”.

Mikey Arroyo reacted to a photo of him that circulated on the Internet showing at Rustan’s at the height of Typhoon Ondoy. The photo describes him as being callous shopping for alcoholic drinks while his countrymen were suffering. He lashed out and said that Facebook and other mediums should be regulated and that it was impossible for him to be at Rustan’s at Katipunan since it was impassable at the time.

I went back to Manila last week for a vacation. I must say, nothing much has changed in the Philippines or Manila for that matter. It was raining the whole week and we had a typhoon. As usual, when classes were finally suspended, the rain stopped.
Of course, since it was raining hard, most streets were flooded. Unbelievable that this problem has never been solved in more than 20 years.

The trouble with exposing graft and corruption in this country is that the whistle blower gets into trouble.
There is a long list of journalists and activists who are now six feet under, for instance, because of exposing and opposing graft and corruption.
For the lucky ones who are still living, tables are turned against them.
