It took me hours to figure out what works and what doesn’t with their supposedly “new” Yahoo! Profile service (which includes following their links from here to there and never back). So to save you from pulling your hair out or kicking your AVR or punching your monitor (or prevent you from realizing that Yahoo should probably have sold itself to Google so their engineers and web developers can fix this mess), I am sharing with you what little I found.

google‘s jeff dean, also shared some growth numbers from 1999 to 2009 and that while both search queries and processing power have gone up by a factor of 1000, latency has gone down from around 1000ms to 200ms.

yesterday jan 31 @ around 630am(pst)/1030pm(manila), this text tagged all google search results as “This site may harm your computer!” scary huh? it indeed happen!
the official google blog have apologized and attributed this to a human error.
a routine process done by google is to tag web sites with this text if it was found to have malicious background processes and is listed in a file they maintain.

the last quarter of 08 was a bombardment of IT layoffs in the Philippines. @ the start of 09 there had news that microsoft itself will lay off 15000 of its workforce worldwide. here comes another sad news – google has announced layoffs of around 100 people – most of them from HR.
