USA Basketball continues its slide to mediocrity as Team USA lost to Greece, 95-101 in the semifinal round of the 2006 World Basketball Championships.

The Greeks, the European champions, employed a stinging defense as well as hot outside shooting to offset the Americans’ advantage in talent. With no NBA player on its roster, the Greeks rolled to 12-point lead late in the third quarter and held on to post the biggest upset in the Worlds. Read more…
