I don’t know what to think of this one. It’s been touted as “The Dark Knight Returns” of Marvel, and oh boy it is. It’s badass, violent, grim, and all the things you’d expect from a Marvel Knights imprint. It’s awesome. but one thing just doesn’t sit too well with me: it’s just too much like TDKR.

I mean, the art is too much like Frank Miller’s. The storyline (old superhero comes out of retirement and battles authoritarian city government led by an ineffective mayor), even if it’s the same theme, still is different in many ways. Government paranoia. The children being influenced by the hero. Hell, they even have reporters narrating the story! And he’s named Miller!
