Many pundits have cast doubt on recent official econ. growth figures in the Philippines. One of my preferred ways to validate growth data is by looking at growth in electricity consumption, especially in Metro Manila, which accounts for more than 60% of value added in the Philippine economy. I’ve looked at data provided by Meralco.
