When I was a kid, I look forward to halloween and all soul’s day. Halloween because of the candies we get during trick or treating and All Soul’s Day because it is our family’s annual reunion in the cemetery.

Growing up on the Philippines, the first of November is a very important day for us. It is a religious holiday (All Saint’s Day). Millions of Filipinos flock to the cemetery to visit their departed friends and family on this day instead of the second of November (which is the actual All Soul’s Day).
