So whats that suppose to mean?

This has been my previous learnings from my 3 year stint in the HR arena. You have to be a company of your own.

I’d like to share this self taught learning reinforced by various readings to fellow job seekers out there. Actually I’m still actively looking for a new skill and challenge to embrace hopefully a big one to a new company (BPO preferred).

Job seekers should think like a company or act like a company equipped with the latest tools and competencies for you to be marketable enough to customers around. And who are these customers? Employers of course.

Fresh from college? So how do you guys market yourselves? Well mostly fresh grads usually brag their diploma’s, grades and licenses but I tell you some employers don’t care about these stuffs because past performance cannot guarantee them that your worth the investment though some schools of thought would still agree that it’s a good source of information on how you’ll perform in the long run.

So what then really counts if you don’t belong to those classroom brainiacs of your time?

Attitude! This one is the most important asset. If you posses the right attitude then most likely you’ll have the edge. One should posses the passion coupled interest for it would really be the needed currency if you really wanted to excel on a particular task. Some employers also would focus on the various skills and competencies you posses. With these set of skills they’ll be giving you a hint of how fast can you learn on a certain job or task. This is how companies balance things because if you have these stuffs in your back pack then mostly likely you’ll fit with their culture. Culture has been very vital now a days in every company.
