Obviously, I’ve been having too much of either of two things: sleep or trying to avoid my Friendsters. Today I opened my Friendster homepage and found the background was cluttered with lots of coke photos, and tiled ones at that! I can’t believe these guys built Friendster when they can’t even do better than a tiled background for Coca-Cola. I immediately guessed that it was for advertising purposes, and found out that Coke was indeed having a contest and they were advertising on Friendster. It’s weird and it’s the first time I ever encountered this kind of advertising. When I first saw it I was like, “Did someone just hack my account and put the Coke photos all over the place? Or did I miss something?”. ‘Cause the damned thing was all over my homepage.
