Ten years ago the Pinoy Internet scene was much more quiet. (And that was a very stupid thing to say, I know. I might as well say ‘ten years ago the world was ten years younger’.) There were few Filipino websites then and everybody felt even more proud of Lea Salonga for having her own place on the web. Blogger was non-existent and blog was not a word.

Now everybody has a say online. Personal websites of Pinoys are no longer limited to celebrities like Lea Salonga; the list now includes Lea Bacolodan, Lea Saldua, Lea Yupangco, Lea Asterisk dot Asterisk, and everybody else not Lea. The Internet has become a stage where everybody is a star. There are already as many performers as there are audiences. A crowded talk show. Friendster Heinz was right, everybody is a critic online. Some talk sense. Some talk shit. Some shits talk. Paris Hilton has an MTV. It’s a free world.
