In what seemed like Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao’s closest fight ever, he wins last Saturday’s rematch with Juan Manuel Marquez by a hair’s breadth. The fight lasted 12 rounds with the two champions still standing despite blood gushing into their eyes and faces.

Ultimately, it was Pacquiao’s strong left hook hitting Marquez in the face in the third round that proved to be the deciding factor where two judges (Tom Miller and Duane Ford) favored Pacquiao, 114-113 and 115-112 against that of Judge Jerry ROth’s 115-112 in favor of Marquez. The ferocious hit knocked down Marquez for a few seconds. He immediately regained his composure and continued to exchange equal blows with Pacquiao.

I watched the game at the Lagao Gymnasium, live via satellite in Pacman and mine’s hometown in General Santos City, Philippines. It was hard to tell who really won until the final announcement. For a while there, we thought Marquez would have won it- if not for that knockdown he received from Pacquiao. Read more here…

After fighting the Pac to a compelling draw in 2004 Pacquiao vs Marquez Boxing Match Fight that had him rally from three first-round knockdowns, JMM (48-3-1, 35 knockouts) watched his countrymen legends have their careers essentially closed in one-sided losses to the Assassin.

Their first fight’s in the past, but he’ll put my heart, mind and soul into this fight, and this victory will be for all the fans.  JMm who stands as more than a 2-1 underdog in the Las Vegas sports books but was the Manny Pacquiao vs Juan Manuel Marquez Weight-in crowd’s favorite when he came in at the 130-pound limit Friday. The assasin weighed 129 pounds at Manny Pacquiao vs Marquez II Mandalay Bay Las Vegas.

Internally, JMM handlers strategize the best chance to beat the Pac is to weather the first four rounds of his “freight train” attack, and then rely on JMM superb conditioning built in the mountains above his hometown to win either by decision or knockout. “I don’t like to be called the ‘Assassin.’ It just so happens there’s a lot of us in this division. He’s just a fighter doing his job, and his character is to fight hard. That’s what he’ll show at Manny Pacquaio vs Marquez 2 Result.

The only contentious moment came in the first round, when the pac dropped jmm three times and nearly stopped him. Even the judges didn’t agree whether it was a 10-7 or 10-6 score. It is thought that a 10-7 score – jmm landed more than a couple of clean swipes and it’s not automatic that every fall  subsequent to the first two leads to another point deduction.Marquez came back to outbox Pac much of the rest of the way. People had him up 7-5 in scores but a loser on points because of the early fall.

“Many people think Manny Pacquiao is a Mexican killer, I don’t think so. And on March 15 I will demonstrate who’s better.”

That’s what Juan Manuel Marquez says. In English. (Even though someone translates the questions for him into Spanish.) In contrast, Manny Pacquiao goes beyond talking or singing (!)—in Tagalog and English—and is now writing for a tabloid. The name of his twice-a-week column is Kumbinasyon, which actually reads more like it was dictated to someone =)

I have a gut feel in me that Manny Pacquiao will lose this time, unless he knocks out Marquez. Somehow, I sense that there’s an “over-confident” side on Manny that may cause him to be careless. In this fight, Maquez is the underdog. What’s your say?

MESSGAE

·                    The opposition groups issued a manifesto entitled “HATAK” and “HATOL” – the former supports Gen Esperon while the latter rejects PGMA… both of which are initiated by the anti-administration and aimed in dividing national unity…

·                    A manifesto entitled “HATAK” wants Gen Esperon to be the head of State while a manifesto “Hatol” wants PGMA to be removed from her position… its quite obvious that the perpetrators are desperate for military support to overthrow the President…

·                    OPLAN 4G which, was formulated by the Magdalo group  is underway… they are now in the part of insinuating civil disobedience…

·                    OPLAN 4G is a four-phase scheme intended to oust the President… insinuating the public through a chaotic atmosphere, promoting civil disobedience, withdrawal of support and taking over with the help of critical mass… such plot is currently in effect…

·                    The series of fire that gutted out several areas in Metro Manila are all part of OPLAN 4G… it was intended to insinuate the victims in going against the present administration for their misery…

·                    Destabilizers are pushing to the edge as to the extent of setting off the fires that left several families homeless… with this; they can easily make out misery and instill a chaotic environment enough for public outrage…

·                    A desperate attempt of  destabilizers to create chaos and go against the government is to hire arsonists to smolder certain squatter’s area in Metro
Manila… this is quite evident in the continual fire that hit slum areas…

·                    Serge Osmeña engineered Pulse Asia’s fabricated result of the most corrupt President… He allied himself with political opposition, destabilizers and leftist groups so as to oust PGMA before 2010…

·                    18 months starting this January is the most crucial period for destabilizers… the span of time is the only opportunity they have to oust PGMA, since any time longer than that, comes the 2010 election fever…

·                    OPLANs Hackle, Liras, Roundhead,
Jericho and 4G are all Magdalo schemes to oust the President… Oplan 4G is still underway for leftist groups and power grabbers are riding with the rogue soldiers…

·                    OPLAN Jericho, known as the Manila Peninsula incident was designed to draw supporters from all sectors… however, it was in vain since people are not anymore inclined in believing the Trillanes et al…

·                    The fabricated result of Pulse Asia’s “most corrupt” President is part of OPLAN 4G… to insinuate public outrage and eventually civil disobedience…

The Race to The Future Begins Here

Friday
Jan 4,2008

Touted as a “Race to the Future,” the 2008 Clark Freeport International Marathon is a first in more ways than one.  On Jan. 13, 2008, for the first time in the country, a marathon is implementing a technology that uses the GPS to track the runners and their progress through the scenic and winding route of the marathon.

“This is the first time this technology is being used in the country,” Rudy Biscocho, of RACE, Inc. says. “The system uses a special chip that is attached on the runners’ shoelaces, allowing the GPS satellite to follow their progress as they make their way along the route.  This technology is used in the Boston Marathon and even the Tour De France.”  “We are proud that we are introducing this state-of-the-art technology.” Ms. Noemi Garcia of Clark Development Corporation (CDC) adds.

Mr. Biscocho, acquired the AMB ChipX system on his recent visit to Australia.  AMB ChipX Timing system is based on a simple concept – each athlete is fitted with a chip (called a transponder) which outputs a signal. As the athlete crosses the start/finish line, the signal is detected and the exact time calculated. This simple concept has been refined and perfected over the last 25 years and is now used by over 13,000 AMB customers worldwide.

The ChipX system can also automatically connect to the internet to provide organizations with 100% automated timing.  The system guarantees 100% accuracy regardless of the density of participants arriving at the finish line, assuring the runners of a fair and exact race outcome.

The 2008 Clark Freeport International Marathon is organized by the Clark Development Corporation in partnership with ActivAsia, Inc.  Sanctioned by the Philippine Amateur Track and Field Association (PATAFA) and endorsed by the Philippine Sports Commission, the event is expected to bring in runners from all over the country and around Asia, all vying for the biggest cash prizes in marathon the Philippines has ever seen.

Aside from the 42-K run, there are also 10-K and 5-K runs.   For inquires, log on to www.clarkmarathon.com or call Thelma Biscocho of RACE at (632) 727-99-87, or call Jay Almario at CDC at (045) 599-32-22, or Agnes Sicat of ActivAsia at (045) 861-4072 Registration forms are available at these offices.  The registration fees for local runners are PhP500.00 for the 42-K event and PhP250.00 for both the 5 and 10 K runs.

The 2008 Clark Freeport International Marathon

All is set and ready for the first major sporting event of 2008.  The first Clark Freeport International Marathon to be held on January 13, 2008 is expected to draw in participants and spectators from all over the country and around Asia.

To ensure full and quality coverage of this grand event, Clark Development Corporation (CDC) and ActivAsia, Inc. are partnering with ABS-CBN Sports.  “ABS-CBN Sports’ commitment to sports and adherence to the highest standards of broadcasting are compatible with the marathon’s thrusts and objectives,” Noemi Garcia of CDC says.  “We envision the marathon to be a yearly event, and for this purpose, we find ABS-CBN as a veritable ally.”

The production crew of ABS-CBN acknowledges the special requirements of covering a marathon, highlighting the sheer breath and expanse of the venue, but they are more than up to the task.  Moreover, their global reach adds a truly international dimension to the event.  “We are airing the marathon in The Filipino Channel (TFC) on cable world-wide,” Ms. Garcia says.  “This will give a chance for every Filipino in every corner of the globe to witness this grand and awesome event.”

Sanctioned officially by the Philippines Amateur Track and Field Association and endorsed by the Philippine Sports Commission,  this race, aptly referred to as the “Race to the Future”, offers the biggest cash prizes the country has ever seen for a marathon, offering a total cash prize of 1.8 million pesos.

Aside from the 42-K run, there are also 10-K and 5-K runs.   The marathon is open to the public.

For more information, log on to www.clarkmarathon.com or call Thelma Biscocho of RACE at (632) 727-99-87, or call Jay Almario of CDC at (045) 599-32-22, or Agnes Sicat of ActivAsia at (045) 861-4072.
