I just found out when Nokia’s PC Suite notified me with an update of their software. Nokia made the new firmware available couple of weeks ago and is only available for the European and Asian version of the N95.

The new Nokia N95 firmware update version 21.0.016 is ready to download (around 118mb) and install with Nokia Software Update utility. You can also visit the nearest Nokia Service center to request for an upgrade if you’re not comfortable on updating your phone on your own.

My brother sent me clips and I don’t even have an idea what it was as first. I though it was one of those blooper videos being forwarded by people through email. So what is it?

Dead Fantasy is a fan made masterpiece of Monty Oum, a short action pack video combining characters mainly from Final Fantasy and Dead or Alive. This guy is one very talented animator in my opinion. From what I’ve seen, this is one of the best video clip I have ever seen considering that its a fan made video.

Converting a file like an mpeg video to a quicktime file can be a pain specially if you don’t have the proper software to do the task. Normally you have to download one, or two, sometimes three utilities just to convert a file to a format you like.  If only we can avoid this hassle just to convert a file to a different format.

What is TagBux ?

TagBux is a Web 2.0 application developed through Open Source technologies (Java EE and WordPress) and patterned from social networking applications such as Shelfari. It lets you use tags to assign labels to books and was designed to test the accuracy of tagging as compared to the subject headings assigned to books. The library collection that was chosen for this study is the Philippine Science High School (PSHS) Diliman Library. Through this study, library users will be able to discover the popular topics or genres in a library’s collection through the frequencies of tags.

I was attending a business meeting, when the topic started to shift to open source.  And one of the attendees started saying, ” of course, Wilson Ng has been a Microsoft advocate and partner, and we do expect him to oppose open source.”  I grimaced and shrugged.  I have often been characterized as such.  But I believe that I have grown old enough in the industry that I have stopped looking at things as black and white, and start to be more circumspect.

Looking at things objectively means you understand that generalizations tend to be wrong, and it often is.  Not all Americans are angels, and not all Filipino officials are corrupt or incompetent.  Not every thing  Microsoft does is bad, and defective software do not automatically become good when labeled as open source.

I found this when I was looking for a way to convert the December 2007 Nursing Exam Results document to a PDF file. Previously, I was using other PDF printers and was not aware that Microsoft is offering an official save as PDF or XPS plugin for Office 2007.

This plugin allows you to export and save Microsoft Office 2007 documents in PDF and XPS format, you can also send these PDF and XPS files as attachments with some of the Office programs.

You may have seen reports of Microsoft Windows Vista Service Pack 1 floating on the net by now. I stumbled a couple of links and torrents on several discussion boards but most of them are either RC1 (refresh 1), Fakes or just plain old Trojans. Surely, a lot of people doesn’t want to wait several days to get a hold of their own copy and install it on there system.

For couple of days, the only people who can get a valid Vista Service Pack 1 are some beta testers and people who have an MSDN accounts. Luckily, several people made this available to the general public, so you don’t need to wait until March to get a hold of Vista Service Pack 1. You have two ways on getting the Service Pack.
