For my 63rd Philippine Independence Day post or now known as the Filipino-American Friendship Day – July 4, 1946, I’m releasing my adjusted version of Banyuhay’s Baybayin Typepad hereby called as Baybayin Typepad No.01.

Yes, as the name suggests this is the first. This great tool was developed by Banyuhay (a blog site written completely in Baybayin / ᜊᜌ᜔ᜊᜌᜒᜈ᜔). This is the first typepad for Baybayin I found and it won’t be the last.

Nordenx is also creating his own Baybayin Typepad. I am also writing my own, two jQuery-based Baybayin Typepad, the first jQuery version is already online (if you can find where I am hosting it, congrats) but it is not ready yet.

Simple instructions are inside, no need to download any fonts as long as you are using Firefox 3.5; Safari 4; and the latest Chrome nightly. Enjoy ᜊᜌ᜔ᜊᜌᜒᜈ᜔ and I hope this will encourage you to love and revive this beautiful writing system that we can call our own.

Check it out by clicking here.

I woke up a few mornings ago reminded that it’s not how hard you work, it’s how smart you work. Getting chores done just for the sake of getting them done is not always the best way to go. To truly accomplish something worthwhile, you have to focus on what you want and work backwards to achieve it. Figure out what your objective is and create steps that lead up to its completion. For instance, I have a client who goes a million miles an hour doing everything she can to get work off of her desk. She just starts with what’s on top of the pile and works her way down. But what in the pile is really relevant? urgent? important? And what about emails?

I would venture to say the tasks she has to do fit somewhere on a continuum of ‘somewhat important’ to ‘very important’, but not all of them are urgent (there are some folks out there, however, who have only a stack of urgent work).

Once she sorts out tasks that can be unloaded, she can focus on what is most core to her business. She will be freed up to work smart – being creative and innovative.

By focusing on getting rid of her busywork (working hard) allowing her to focus energy on growing her business (working smart), she will be much happier completing her objective.

Why Philippines?

Sunday
Apr 12,2009

I love the Philippines. I love the Philippines when it comes to handling voice support and business process outsourcing. Why?

- Large English-speaking population
- Lower infrastructure costs
- Government support
- Strong IT services industry
- Call center environment
- U.S. business hours (24 hour support also)
- Overnight turnarounds
- Similar financial and legal systems to the U.S.
- Filipino and Western culture affinity

I could go on. I’m sure I will in a future post.

People are becoming geeks in 2019.

Microsoft Labs has just put in the video where we can see the future. Microsoft worked with customers, partners and other visionaries to identify the opportunities offered by the technological innovations and to anticipate the behavioral changes of the individuals.

The best part of this video is that the gadgets all worked in touch screen. Reading the newspaper, drawing, even a simple chitchats interprets and translates into another language.  Read the rest of this entry

No Link Between Video Game Play and Violent Behavior

Saturday
Feb 21,2009

“the reckless pursuit of anti-video game legislation like this is an exercise in wasting taxpayer money, government time, and state resources. In the end, common sense prevailed with the court determining that, after exhaustive review, video games do not cause psychological or neurological harm to minors.”

CIOL.com recently had this blog post about the newly launched x550 of NComputing:

NComputing, a provider of ultra-low-cost computing appliances— announced that it had further cut down the cost of computing with its new X550 desktop virtualisation kit.

Each X550 kit delivers a rich multimedia computing experience to an additional five users on one PC for a list price of only $449. With a second X550 kit, a total of eleven users can all share a single PC.”
