Its six days until V-day and the most asked question has been about how are couples celebrating valentines day. But not everyone is making reservations at Le Souffle. Like my friend K. Her boyfriend is in the States, has been for the past two years, and she is used to spending valentines at home like any other normal day.
It’s my 26th Birthday today, the 27th January 2008, and it is fun to go back and look at some of my gaming history, especially online gaming. Like accumulating 3,517 hours of game time in Xfire records alone… And sharing with you my Birthday Prayer just for YOU…
I was chatting with friends last week when one of the men in the group talked about his latest conquest. He turned mushy and expressed that he seems to be falling in love with the girl. He continued to tell us how his friends made him realize that fact by teasing him about letting his girl’s dog ride in his beloved car. Men and their wheels! Sheesh!
The day turned into a survey and its interesting to find out how to tell if your man loves you…. straight from the horses mouth:
I thought of giving back to my readers, visitors and lurkers part of the prize money I won from winning Best Website (Blogs Category) in the last 10th Philippine Web Awards. I called it the Love Struck Writing Contest to celebrate the 30 years that my husband and I met each other and my 2nd Blog Anniversary.
So here are the mechanics:

MESSGAE
· The opposition groups issued a manifesto entitled “HATAK” and “HATOL” – the former supports Gen Esperon while the latter rejects PGMA… both of which are initiated by the anti-administration and aimed in dividing national unity…
· A manifesto entitled “HATAK” wants Gen Esperon to be the head of State while a manifesto “Hatol” wants PGMA to be removed from her position… its quite obvious that the perpetrators are desperate for military support to overthrow the President…
· OPLAN 4G which, was formulated by the Magdalo group is underway… they are now in the part of insinuating civil disobedience…
· OPLAN 4G is a four-phase scheme intended to oust the President… insinuating the public through a chaotic atmosphere, promoting civil disobedience, withdrawal of support and taking over with the help of critical mass… such plot is currently in effect…
· The series of fire that gutted out several areas in Metro Manila are all part of OPLAN 4G… it was intended to insinuate the victims in going against the present administration for their misery…
· Destabilizers are pushing to the edge as to the extent of setting off the fires that left several families homeless… with this; they can easily make out misery and instill a chaotic environment enough for public outrage…
· A desperate attempt of destabilizers to create chaos and go against the government is to hire arsonists to smolder certain squatter’s area in Metro
Manila… this is quite evident in the continual fire that hit slum areas…
· Serge Osmeña engineered Pulse Asia’s fabricated result of the most corrupt President… He allied himself with political opposition, destabilizers and leftist groups so as to oust PGMA before 2010…
· 18 months starting this January is the most crucial period for destabilizers… the span of time is the only opportunity they have to oust PGMA, since any time longer than that, comes the 2010 election fever…
· OPLANs Hackle, Liras, Roundhead,
Jericho and 4G are all Magdalo schemes to oust the President… Oplan 4G is still underway for leftist groups and power grabbers are riding with the rogue soldiers…
· OPLAN Jericho, known as the Manila Peninsula incident was designed to draw supporters from all sectors… however, it was in vain since people are not anymore inclined in believing the Trillanes et al…
· The fabricated result of Pulse Asia’s “most corrupt” President is part of OPLAN 4G… to insinuate public outrage and eventually civil disobedience…
The mystery girl in green is a girl named Donna. If i were to believe a reader who just sent me these photos of Donna, famous for the so-called Manny Pacquiao scandal. In the previously published photos of the Manny Pacquiao scandal, the girl’s face was edited out. But now, her face is for the world to see (and judge??!).
Right now, the girl is just known by the name of “Donna”. How apt a name, lol…na do na kaya si Donna? lol..

How does one deal with a father who has done a lot of things wrong, and yet feels entitled to do such things?
How does one deal with a father whose idea of being a good father is limited, at best, to just being a good provider?
What is a child to do? How do you deal with a father like him?
Below is a copy of our first monthly email newsletter, borne mostly out of boredom but hopefull some of you will find some use for this. If you did not receive a copy of the newsletter and would like to receive it next time, please email newsletter@brubakers.us with SUBSCRIBE either in the subject line or the body of the message. We will gladly add you to the distribution list. I cannot promise that this will be a regular monthly recurrence because there may be times that I will be too busy to send one, but I can promise a similar newsletter at the end of 2008.
That’s all I can guarantee for now. Anyway, here is the newsletter that was sent today:
Well, we are snowed in as you can tell from this blog entry. Since I am bored out of my mind, with no homework and no work-work (Thank heavens I’m not on duty this weekend!), I have decided to create a monthly newsletter for our blog. If a monthly newsletter is too frequent for you and you do not really care to receive our updates, please read no further. Respond to this message with REMOVE in the subject and your email address will be promptly removed from this notification list. For the rest of you, welcome!
Since this is the very first email newsletter for our blog I felt a recap of our life together is in order. Before we begin, however, allow me to wish everyone merry Christmas! May you all have a wonderful and blessed holiday season, and a prosperous year ahead!
Though our blog didn’t begin until shortly after our marriage, life with Brian really began in early 2000. That’s when we moved in together. We lived in a two-bedroom townhouse at the northeast side of town with Brian’s brother Kevin. Incidentally, 2000 is also the year my nephew Logan was born.
A year after living together in the townhouse, Brian and I decided to become homeowners. We moved into our house in April 2001. Less than a month later, he proposed. We set the date for August 10, 2002. We chose the date because it is approximately three years into our relationship. You can find other 2001 highlights here.
These are all pre Life After Marriage events. I have been blogging about my life since before the word “blog” entered the vernacular so you could probably still find old journal entries floating around. You can try Google, but here are a couple of places that I was able to find if you’d like to read up:
- Chingay – this has stuff that I salvaged from the old Chingay.com web site. Many things are probably lost at this point. I never was any good at doing archives and backups.
- No. 2305 – a few things from my old Geocities. There was a period after Chingay.com and Chingay.net and Goldensushi.net when I didn’t have a domain and was using free hosting providers.
- I had a XOOM (pre-Chingay.com) and an Angelfire and a Crosswinds and a Scribble and all of those are pretty much gone. Always do your backups!
In 2002, I was laid off from my previous employer. Thankfully, I had another job lined up so I was only without work for a week. Someone up there is looking out for me.
To this day, I firmly believe that the closing of the Spiegel call center is the best thing to have ever happened in my life (career-wise, anyway). You get comfortable and without even knowing it you’re stuck in a rut… [more here]

I work for a company that employs people from around the world. Because of that, I had the opportunity to immerse myself in the different cultures of the people I worked with. I got to know Americans, Italians, Brits, Australians, Japanese, Chinese, Indians and many more.
Because of this diversity, very interesting conversations materialize during lunch or coffee breaks. One such discussion was about arranged marriages and divorce. You see back then, I had a colleague who had requested for a month long PTO (personal time off). When we asked, he revealed that he was going to meet his future wife and her family for the first time.
Are office romances really kept secret?
I was chatting with some lady friends today about someone we knew who was having a “secret” relationship with a colleague. Secret meaning they think nobody knows when in fact, the whole office does. Secret meaning no one should know when in fact everybody does… everybody except the guy’s “official” girlfriend.
The story reminded me of another couple from years back. In fact, it reminded me of several other couples I know who have, at one time or another, indulged in this kind of a hookup. The type which we call office romance. Sometimes they are healthy and welcome, at times they are deceptive and most other times they border on the illicit or immoral.
finally, after a series of hiding incidents, i received a call from the law office where my delinquent credit card account was endorsed and asked me to settle the outstanding balance amounting to p48,900.00.
i managed to make a partial payment of p5,000.00 yesterday and faxed my proof of payment. that makes my debt down to p43,900.00 – this amount is huge and i have no idea where in the world will i get the money to pay this amount – considering my monthly condo rent, my daily meal, my MRT/tricycle/bus fares, my utility bills, and my other expenditures.

Bo Sanchez launched yesterday at the Kerygma Conference held at Philsports Arena (formerly ULTRA) his latest book entitled “7 Secrets to Real Freedom”. The book promises to teach us how to get rid of hidden addictions and to achieve great success. It comes after very great works like “8 Secrets of the Truly Rich” and “How to Find Your One True Love”. Read more at Pinoy Seminars.
I wanted to blog something about suicide because of the blog of Liz about another suicide supposedly attributed to poverty, and because I want to advocate that the media should stop this media-hype because of the possibility that suicide might actually be “copied” and misconstrued that it is cool to commit suicide as what Prudence has mentioned in her blog as Werther Syndrome.
I had to refresh my psychology since it was already eons ago! I rummaged through the net and looked for theories of attribution, cognitive dissonance and suicide itself. But then, discussing suicide is in itself mind-boggling. So, I decided not to discuss suicide for several reasons:
I’m sure many have experienced being asked by a friend or relative to co-sign a loan. And, even if we don’t really like it, we usually oblige with the thought that we are just co-makers. The belief is that we are only going to have problems if the principal will refuse to pay. Not necessarily.
A friend of mine, Nelson Getigan, a lawyer and entrepreneur, warns us of the consequences. In an article entitled “The Unknowing Debtor: A Discussion on the Liability of Co-makers“, he talks about Palmares vs. Court of Appeals, a decision of the Philippine Supreme Court which says that a creditor may go after the co-maker even without going after the principal first.
The article is posted at www.gccs.com.ph, the official website of GCCS and Associates, a company specializing in debt collection and credit investigation here in the Philippines. It is the first of a series of articles related to our laws on debt collection. The lesson is that we should know our rights and avoid paying for someone else’s loan.
Naman, pseudo bf is back in the limelight. Nagkita rin kami by accident kahapon. Actually, we were supposed to meet up last Friday kaso nawala pala cp n’ya kaya yun, naudlot ang aming pagtatagpo.
