The President Cory funeral cortege took the same road when Senator Ninoy was also brought to his resting place – via Makati’s portion of the South Super Highway or as known today “President Osmeña Highway”.
Since it’s in our neighborhood, I went outside and joined the thousands of Filipinos waiting to give their last respects to the 11th President of the Republic of the Philippines – President Corazon “Cory” Cojuangco-Aquino.
I brought home 426 photos, 332 of which I uploaded online. These photos captured the Filipino people during her time of mourning as a Nation. If you weren’t there, then I hope these photos will allow you to go back in that point in time and be there as well, together with us.
The photos will speak for me and express for me what it was like being there. So join me as I show you: A Story to Tell… A President to Remember.
I know this is a photography site, but a close cousin of photography is video. The brother of a friend of mine had a wedding recently and hired Phoeben Teocson who is considered to be one of the top 5 videographer in the Philippines. I saw the wedding video I was floored. I just love how the video was taken and edited. The music chosen was very good as well.

The challenge with photography is sometimes looking for a subject to photograph. I’ve been so busy with work lately that sometimes I’m too tired to think what to photograph.
When that happens, I don’t think about it, I just shoot.

I love kids, do you love kids? You should, they are the best models for photography. They’re completely natural, they’re not shy, they’re spontaneous, oblivious and cute.
I never have a problem taking a cute photo of children. I have a lot of trouble taking photos of adults. They’re very self conscious and if one hair is out of place, they complain the photo is ugly. Arrghh…you can’t win!

And it’s history, today was the record-breaking Longest Total Solar Eclipse ever experienced by the Human race – 6 minutes and 39 seconds total at its maximum point.
Most only experienced a partial eclipse like us in the Philippines, but regardless, it was still an experience we will treasure and pass on to the next generation (and those who missed it).
Enjoy!!
I’ve been thinking about having a career in photography and I’ve been doing some research. Most of the time, when we think of photographic careers, we think of the usual wedding photographer or National Geographic photographer. So I was wondering if there are other types of careers out there that might be good.

Everybody has different goals when it comes to photography. Some just want to learn to take better photos of their friends and families, others want to move into professional photography and make money taking photographs.
For some people though, there is another level, fame and fortune. Well, probably more of the fame part.
If you’ve been doing photography for a while, you may find that you’ve gotten to a level where your photographs are good enough that you may want to consider entering them into photography contests.

In the photo above, you’ll see the inside back part of my Nikon F3 camera where the film is put in. The roller on the right side is where the film is attached and rolled. The left side where there is a big hole with the knob pulled up is where the film canister goes in.

I admit, I use Photoshop. A lot of my photos have been manipulated using Photoshop. If you look at my photos at my photoblog at Photoblog Vancouver, they are mostly Photoshopped.
Why? Simple, sometimes I can’t get the proper color I want or actually see. When I walk around Vancouver, I don’t always have the luxury of waiting for the right light. Sometimes things happen so fast, I don’t have enough time to adjust my camera settings to get it right all the time.

Yes, you read that right. You can do fashion photography using a point and shoot camera.
Here’s an interview of Terry Richardson on how he started in the business using only a snapshot (point and shoot) camera. How the fashion magazines used to laugh at him and how when he went to a photoshoot with just one snapshot camera and the people are wondering where’s his equipment.
