Raul Lambino of Sigaw ng Bayan, a charter change (Cha-Cha) proponent, seems to be baselessly arguing that majority of the Filipino wants a sweeping structural changes (through Charter change) as against to SWS survey on June 26-28 that a solid majority of 67% of all Filipino adults will vote “no” on charter change. read more…
It’s called Wizmark. An interactive advertising device that goes with men to the restroom whenever mother nature calls on you…literally. It’s patented design allows it to sit right inside the average-sized urinal and despite being pissed on, it will still do its job and deliver ads both commercial and public service ads to you as you do you business inside the ‘john’.
If this device was meant as a advertising tool, I wonder if future models would become more high-tech and include a wireless internet connection allowing men to check their mail, read their RSS feeds and even blog while taking a piss. I also wonder that aside from public service ads or announcements, will targeted ads will be shown relevant to biochemical properties of the current ‘user’ so as to display ads about urinary, cardio-vascular and even reproductive health.
The Northrail Project – much criticized – has caused the displacement of thousands of families. This has an unfortunate effect that no one seems to have commented on just yet: these families will be moving into new territorial jurisdictions where they aren’t registered to vote.
Thanks to some alert COMELEC officers, this problem has been spotted …
At the much bally-hooed Ombudsman hearing today, the only thing really worth noting was the absence of the petitioners. Kilosbayan was not there. Bantay Katarungan never even darkened the Ombudsman’s doorway, and Senator Pimentel sent a man who – despite his valiant efforts – was clearly in over his head. Abalos and the Commissioners, and some of the respondents as well, weren’t there in person, but they at least sent counsel – which (the press notwithstanding) is actually as good as being there themselves.
I shouldn’t be surprised, really. But it is disappointing, considering that this is an institution of democracy these petitioners are tearing down here. You’d think that at the very least, they could spare the effort of actually being there to witness the unfolding of this judicial murder they instigated.

Kyle Macdonald had a very ambitious dream of trading this red paperclip for something bigger or better and keep trading until he gets a house of his own. He had no idea that he would achieve it a year later.
This news really caught my attention,

I ask my students, now ok, so what nationality do you want to be? They want to be British or Canadians. Many want to be French. Now those seem to be a proud people. And they are. Or, they market themselves as such. The French are a proud people. But what most of us don’t realize is that this pride has taken hundreds of years in the making.
Back when I was still working for the Senate Committee on Energy, it was around the early half of 2005. The issue on the sale of Masinloc Power Plant in Zambales exploded when the winning bidder, YNN Pacific Consortium, was found out to be under-capitalize, no experience in power industry, incorporated only around 4 months before the bidding, and according to Joker Arroyo then, to specific office (the company staying in the listed address in SEC was a manpower services office). Dreamed of owning an iPod? I’m sure most of us did in some point in time. And for those who can’t afford it, it still is a dream. However, with the help of old CD’s and DVD’s you can make that dream come true.
The number seven must be an unlucky number for North Korea. Its recent muscle flexing missile tests using seven shots have earned an almost universal condemnation across the world.
Even our City Mayor and Congress Representative expressed their stand.
These details are from the translation of an article in a Finnish newspaper named ‘Ammennusatia’.
A geological group who drilled a hole about 14.4 kilometers deep in the crust of the earth are saying that they heard human screams.
Screams have been heard from the condemned souls from earth’s deepest hole. Terrified scientists are afraid they have let loose the evil powers of hell up to the earth’s surface

Amidst the rising cost of fuel in the world market and the implementation of EVAT that resulted to a tremendous increase of oil products such as gasoline, (http://philippineenergynews.blogspot.com/2006/05/oil-prices-up-by-p050.html), Energy Companies still have the opportunity to gain profit that is even more higher than the previous quarter of the year and getting higher and higher every year, while in contrast, the oil prices is also getting higher almost every less than a month. Shell Philippines, for example, declared last April that their net income for the first quarter of 2006 is greater that their record in 2005. They declared this during the time when the oil prices rose almost every week and while the price of oil in the world market was trending upward. read more..
PSP2.6 Users don’t give up hope yet there is still a very big chance for HOMEBREW
Full kernel mode access on firmware 2.50 and 2.60! Two programmers by the names of hitchhikr and Neural have released a proof-of-concept EBOOT which takes advantage of a new exploit discovered in Sony’s 2.50 and 2.60 firmware revisions.
What does this mean? Well it means all the lovely homebrew compatible with firmware version 1.50 only (Device Hook, DAX, iR Shell, etc…) will now be available on 2.50/2.60! Please note, this exploit does not exist in FW 2.0 and 2.01. And you will require Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories in order to execute this EBOOT.
The proof of concept simply creates a kernel memory dump in the root of your memory stick.
