Sandara: Laban ka, Angelica? *hadoken*
Angelica: *block* Yan lang ba kaya mo, krung krung?
Pops: Tabi dyan mga bata, ganito ang pagdidisplay ng katawan. *Martin sighs*

My sister B and I married on the same year, 1985. Another sister , M got hitched in 1986 and another sister, L in 1987. And guess what? We all encountered marital problems like most marriages. But how would I know it back then?
As an avid supporter of Google Products, here’s one of the popular Anime Music Videos entitled “The End of Angelic Layer” from the Anime series “Angelic Layer”.
“They were five students with nothing in common, faced with spending a Saturday detention together in their high school library. At 7AM, they had nothing to do, but by 4PM, they had bared their souls to each other and become good friends. John Hughes, creator of the critically acclaimed Sixteen Candles, wrote, directed, and produced this hilarious and often touching comedy starring Emilio Estevez, Anthony Michael Hall, Judd Nelson, Molly Ringwald and Ally Sheedy. To the outside world they were simply the Jock, the Brain, the Criminal, the Princess and the Kook, but to each other, they would always be The Breakfast Club.”
If you scour the Net, you’ll find a lot of tricks (such as browsing Firefox’s cache), but you’ll also quickly find that they require some manual effort. An easier way to “leech” videos from YouTube, Google Video, and other video sites is…Continue Reading
We went on a movie binge this week-end and it was a riot! Saturday, H had to judge a contest of musical bands from the medical field (singing doctors and the like…) so the kids and I hied off to our local cinema to catch “Nacho Libre”. Prior to this film, I didn’t even know who Jack Black was! After this film, I’ve become a fan
I normally don’t like slapstick but I must admit that I was really amused with his antics (and accent!) as a monk cum luchador aka wrestler. The story in itself is sweet and that’s what drew our family to the film. Black plays Ignacio, a cook at an orphanage in Oaxaca, Mexico who has long dreamt of becoming a luchador. To finance better meals and the occasional salad for the orphans while pursuing his dream of becoming a luchador — his signature wrestling move is called “the Anaconda squeeze” — Ignacio, also known as Nacho, joins up with a toothy street man-urchin called Esqueleto (Hector Jimenez) and enters the ring. How he overcomes his limitations, pursues his dream and succeeds is the gist of the whole film. “If you fight for something noble, the Lord will give it to you,” his inspiration, the nun, Sister Encarnacion tells him when he seems to lose hope. There are some crude language in the dialogue and rough wrestling scenes but over-all the kids and I were in stitches for the greater part of the movie. (more…)
The only reason we watched Regal Film’s thriller movie, The White Lady was because Joel Nunez (writer for the movie) is a batchmate of my husband in the College of Law. “Let’s show some support to my friend’s endeavor”, my hubby goes. After watching Sadako in “The Ring“, no other hororr movie beats it. Scary for means literally holding on to your seat. Inspired by the famous urban legend about the ghost that haunts Balete Drive, “White Lady” has been reinvented and relocated to some liberal arts school in UP Los Banos. continue reading
Back in the days of VHS, I rented a bootlegged copy of the first Clerks film from the neighborhood video shop. My sister, who was still in college then, had read or heard about this movie somewhere and since I was the one who was already employed and had disposable income, she told me to rent it once it found its way to the video shop. So I did, and I guess, like for a lot of us who enjoyed this wacky black and white view of the mundane, the rest is history.

Weekends are now reserved for the girls as it is the only time that they are home during the week. Today started out on a sad note. After reading twisted lies about a 6 year old incident, my husband and I were enraged. So? What more bad news can we get anyway? My husband and I resolved to let it go for now by watching a movie. And what better movie than Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest?
Did Aguinaldo and Imelda publicly denounce the book and film which rendered them in a relatively positive light in order to tease more people to read and watch these works of art? If this is their intention, then they succeeded.
Or were they just stupid to realize that instead of complaining they should have just endorsed the book and film?

Was the movie worth the P100 fee? Absolutely yes.
Is it good for repeat viewing? Damn yes.
Rating: 8/10
.. from all over the Internet, so the grammar is probably horrible. I will appreciate any corrections.
“Comme dessert, que me suggereriez-vous pour effacer le goût du film de ma bouche?” 1
I arrived late for “Riviera”, so I missed, like, the first fifteen, twenty minutes. Which wasn’t much of a loss, as it turns out. The more I saw, the more certain I was that the director’s main purpose was to waste as much film as she possibly can. We were treated to what seemed like fifteen minutes of a girl, Stella, dancing at a club (“She’s not dancing in time to the music,” Solange commented. “Look, she’s about to do the robot!” I exclaimed gleefully.), and fifteen minutes of the same girl sunbathing.

I think that someone who discovered Brandon Routh bartending should be given a pat in the back. I’m not saying he’s a great actor but he has potential. Let’s cut him some slack since this is the first major role he played and I don’t think he messed it up. He can still be the geeky Clark Kent and the swoon-worthy Superman/Kal-el.
I know I’m probably the last guy to have seen this movie, but I gotta give my PhP1.08 (roughly 2 cents) worth. Warning, spoilers ahead.
He belives in good. He sees evil, and fights against it, because he knows good. Being (up until recently) the last survivor of a dead planet, he reaches out to the denizens of his adopted home and protects them from harm, because it’s all he’s got. He’s not merely good, he represents it. Personifies it. Becomes it.
And that’s awsome.

Superman Returns today… But I’m not just gonna march to the theaters and drool over Brandon Routh. Not yet anyway…
