Greetings from AQ Services International!

We would like to invite you to apply for a mystery shopping program. It would require you to mystery visit several petrol stations.

1. For these mystery shops you need a PERSONAL CAR (motorcycles are not allowed). You are required to observe the service and facilities standards of petrol stations.

2. Reimbursement: The shop fee is 450 Pesos per shop. You are required to make petrol and store item purchase. The minimum amount to spend on fuel is 200 Pesos.

3. Deadline: These mystery shops have to be completed within the one week and the surveys must be completed and submitted within 24 hours of mystery shopping, latest by the 14th of November 2009

Please note that these mystery shops are to be executed between 9 am to 3 pm, 7 days a week (Including weekend).

We will inform you from the 19th October onwards if you are selected for one or more mystery shops. Do check your mailbox for updates!

USCIS Delays Rule Changing List of Documents Acceptable to Verify Employment Eligibility

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced Friday that it has delayed the implementation of an interim final rule entitled “Documents Acceptable for Employment Eligibility Verification” published in the Federal Register on Dec. 17, 2008 by 60 days, until April 3, 2009. The rule streamlines the Employment Eligibility Verification (Form I-9) process and was originally set to take effect today (February 2, 2009).

The delay will provide DHS with an opportunity for further consideration of the rule and also allows the public additional time to submit comments. A notice announcing the delay was transmitted today to the Federal Register. In addition, USCIS has reopened the public comment period for 30 days, until March 4, 2009. The interim final rule will amend regulations governing the types of acceptable identity and employment authorization documents employees may present to their employers for completion of the Form I-9. Under the interim rule, employers will no longer be able to accept expired documents to verify employment authorization on the Form I-9.

The interim final rule and an informational copy of the revised Form I-9 will continue to be available for public comment at www.regulations.gov.

Pain relievers were not usually an option for me as I have always been scared of becoming addicted to them. I believe that the best meds in the world are laughter and sleep, which is why I do those two things a lot. I am sure we all have heard about the milk catastrophe in China where milk manufacturers used a dangerous substance to fake high protein levels in milk. The practice has been exposed after several babies have died and thousands have been hospitalized in China due to illnesses caused by the substance.

The crisis has triggered a milk scare all over the world including the Philippines. Bloggers have been fast to write about it, I am sure with the intention of providing as much information as possible. But then, I noticed some news items and writeups, even emails, using the term “melamine” while others are using “melanine”.

The “holy week” is of special interest to outdoor pilgrims like me not only because of an important Christian tradition it celebrates, but also because of the long vacation time it offers. It give us trekking saints, longer time to troop to our mecca and hit those peaks again! I am one of those outdoor buffs who spent the last two successive Lenten season on top of those mountain ranges.

Ironically, no matter how low profile I keep on what my real job is, I often get questions related to it and mountaineering, a hobby I soon enjoyed.

“How do you physically prepare for this climb Dokie? Is there a way for us to prevent injuries and muscle soreness during and after climbs? Why do some people pass out of exhaustion or get headaches at high altitudes?”

It’s always fun to read about the Philippines in other countries in a positive light. Even this is just a blip on Time Magazine again.

Studies in the Philippines show that later-born siblings tend to be shorter and weigh less than earlier-borns. (Think the slight advantage the 6-ft. 5-in. [196 cm] Peyton Manning has over the 6-ft. 4-in. [193 cm] Eli doesn’t help when he’s trying to throw over the outstretched arms of a leaping lineman?) Younger siblings are less likely to be vaccinated than older ones, with last-borns getting immunized sometimes at only half the rate of firstborns. Eldest siblings are also disproportionately represented in high-paying professions. Younger siblings, by contrast, are looser cannons, less educated and less strapping, perhaps, but statistically likelier to live the exhilarating life of an artist or a comedian, an adventurer, entrepreneur, GI or firefighter. And middle children? Well, they can be a puzzle—even to researchers.
