I can imagine it now:
Sandara: Laban ka, Angelica? *hadoken*
Angelica: *block* Yan lang ba kaya mo, krung krung?
Pops: Tabi dyan mga bata, ganito ang pagdidisplay ng katawan. *Martin sighs*

Hmm…some valid points there. It all goes to prove that writers are some of the ‘weirdest’ or eccentric persons in the planet. I admit that I’ve read only 2 books in the Harry Potter series; ‘The Prisoner of Azkaban’ and the ‘Goblet of Fire’ and their corresponding film adaptations and I’m not a big Potter fan but I would certainly be saddened if Harry would indeed die in the last book. What about you? Would like Harry Potter or Hermione or even Ron to die in the last book?
I’m in some kind of a blogger’s block. Too many ideas, not much enthusiasm. Too busy doing stuffs but accomplishing nothing much. You know the drill.
So, let me just comment on some books that I’ve read/encountered recently.
Bob Ong’s Alamat ng Gubat, Jostein Gaarder’s Sophie’s World, and Steve Alten’s Meg Primal Waters.
When having a verbal conversation In-Real-Life (IRL), do you unconsciously use internet and gaming acronyms like:

sa pamamahala ay dalubhasa.
Lubog na ekonomiya kanyang

Pinataas ang sahod, bilihin ay

kaya’t ang pangingibang bayan
ay hindi na kinakailangan pa.
For the love of Neil Gaiman, I did volunteer for this event– Unmasked: The First Philippine Graphic/Fiction Award. Some disappointments made me think that it was not really worth the sore feet, but still, it was a good experience.
Two hugely experienced and respected professionals in the Games industry – Simon Byron and Ste Curran will publish a book this Autumn 2006 entitled “GAME ON!: FROM PONG TO OBLIVION: THE GREATEST GAMES Of ALL TIME”.
Yesterday at Solange’s, over vodka, chips and a delicious, creamy mystery dip (“You can rub it all over yourself, we won’t judge you..”), I described to M.C. what I thought to be a really awesome winner’s speech in case he clinched the 1st Philippine Graphic/Fiction Contest first prize next Saturday.
“Point at the audience and lustily yell: ‘Losers!’” I suggested gleefully.* After all, more than a few of the people present would be contestants. Including myself.
Yes. I, too, am a loser. Nothing could assuage my misery at being relegated to the slush pile — not chocolate, alcohol, oversleeping or three hours in a sweltering hot bubble bath. Still, my enthusiasm for this Award has not been quenched, mostly because I am in love with the SF genre and anything that celebrates and promotes it in this country is a marvelous thing. And, yeah, ok, my friend’s been shortlisted.
My currently failing writerly ambitions notwithstanding, I’m still first and foremost an SF fan. As a true fan, I have opinions on the contest finalists. Yes, I have opinions — and I’m not afraid to use them.
di ka naman maganda, pati sa height bagsak ka
di ka naman seksi, walang wala ka sa iba
di rin naman perpekto ang tabas ng iyong mukha
di mo bagay ang payat, di rin bagay ang mataba
My first birthday gift arrived today. I never expected that the pesky guy knocking on our gate was carrying an Amazon delivery package for me. Yes, for me! My heart was beating as I scanned the sticker outside and my mind was also busy guessing who sent this pretty heavy package for me. I kept mumbling “It’s a book… it feels like a book… I can sense it’s a book… darn! How the heck do I open this?!”
I am happy to be a recipient of one of the best gifts in life…
Did Aguinaldo and Imelda publicly denounce the book and film which rendered them in a relatively positive light in order to tease more people to read and watch these works of art? If this is their intention, then they succeeded.
Or were they just stupid to realize that instead of complaining they should have just endorsed the book and film?

Johnny Martires was a good guy — all Johnnies are, of course. He was generous in patience, love, and other goofy-good what-not. But others weren’t as generous to him; for example, his girl. But he wasn’t crying, no, not all Johnnies cry. He was smiling from ear to ear, epilepsisyzing himself to Kanye West’s tune loudly playing in his room, conquering every sound wave from there out to a one mile radius.

Togashi Raizen – youngest son of a tainted Mirumoto and brother of a Topaz Magistrate – has spent the last ten years of his life in Kyuden Toketsu, the Crab stronghold, in an as-yet unsuccessful attempt to cleanse his family’s shame. But must the son always bear the sins of the father – and brother?
Superman Returns today… But I’m not just gonna march to the theaters and drool over Brandon Routh. Not yet anyway…
In other news, there has been rumors spreading in the online Potter-world about author J.K. Rowling planning to “kill” Harry in the 7th and last installment of the book.
