Yahoo! Zimbra Desktop

Thursday
Sep 17,2009

If you were one of the persons who got affected by the recent Gmail outage, you should know that only the web version of Gmail was inaccessible and people who used email clients to access Gmail had no problems.

To avoid the hassle and problems of another outage, you need to start using an email client. One I can recommend is the Yahoo! Zimbra Desktop, a free and open source app created by Zimbra, a Yahoo! company.

Yahoo! Zimbra Desktop is an offline client that lets you manage your various email accounts in one desktop tool. Zimbra mail, Yahoo! Mail, Gmail, AOL, Outlook and any other work or personal email account using POP or IMAP is easy to set up in Yahoo! Zimbra Desktop. Each account is separately maintained.

Zimbra Desktop is easy to install and use. To find out more about it, check out Yahoo! Zimbra Desktop.

Do you use a wireless router at home for your wireless Internet connection? One of the first things you should when you install a wireless router or create a wireless network is to make it secure. Why is it important?

If you don’t make your wireless router or network secure, your computer and the personal information/data that you store or transmit in the Internet are all at risk. Aside from that, an open or unsecure wireless Internet network means strangers can connect and share your Internet connection anytime causing your Internet connection to slow down.

To find out how to make your wireless network secure, check out these 3 Basic Ways to Secure Your WiFi Router.

Send 100MB Attachments w/ Yahoo! Mail

Tuesday
Sep 15,2009

People these days use emails to send business, personal and other types of correspondence. One of the most popular webmail services is Yahoo! Mail and I’m sure most of you here have a Yahoo! Mail account.

One of the issues or limitations of a webmail account is the file attachment size. Previously, file attachments were limited to only 10-20 MB depending on your webmail provider. Yahoo! has addressed that issue and with the integration of the service called Drop.io, Yahoo! Mail has now increased its file attachment size limit to 100MB.

Find out how you can send 100MB attachments with Yahoo! Mail.

Asus Color E-Reader

Monday
Sep 14,2009

Asus, famous for its Eee line of computers and the company who brought us the netbook is about to revolutionize the e-reader market with its upcoming product – a dual screen, colored e-book reader that folds like a real book. Users can use one of the screens to browse and surf the web while reading an e-book on the other. Talk about multi-tasking.

Asus plans to release two versions of the e-reader, a budget version and a premium version. Rumors have it that the premium version could include speakers and a webcam. Wouldn’t that be an awesome e-book reader?

Find out more about it here
