2008 World Pyro Olympics - Day 2
What’s with WPO and the rain? I do not know. But ever since the 1st WPO, there is always a day or two where it rains so hard either in the afternoon or right when the first participant is ready to lit the skies, and again we’re dripping, soaked, wet!
But just like in the previous WPO’s (especially the 1st WPO), people stood their ground and never left their places, who cares about the rain when you are about to see one of the world’s best fireworks? The crowd started to
I know this is old stuff, but it’s funny since I have this conception and “sort of” short-hand observation that many bloggers today don’t even know how to get even a handful of traffic from digg. I’ve based my observations, of course, from my regular drops of entrecard. This idea, and perhaps my month long pre-occupation of digg, is fueled by my attempt to join the digg community. I’ve asked a friend about how to get that many diggs in an instant and, I believe, that also somehow strike a chord in me to research further about how to better improve my digg experience. So, expect more of these kinds of digg-crazy articles later on.
And now for the things you need to know. What makes an article a Super Digg Front Pager?
Can you imagine calling Globelines’s Customer Service and be put on hold for at least 30 mins? I don’t know how will you react on this but I was just so pissed off when I called them one time. Actually, been calling them a couple of times already and all I got are disappoints and dissatisfactions! The name of the agent is Mark and he never managed to get back to me for any development of the transaction he claimed he doing for me. I was left hanging on the line for more than 20 mins not sure if my request has been processed or not. I disconnected the call intentionally. Called them back and now was informed by an Agent named John that it has been processed and was advised to call them back and to monitor the reconnection within 24 hours! What a cliché on their end! Definitely, not convincing folks!
I would be better if the one below answers my call!

This is my 800th article for sunstar since I started writing for it 14 years ago. People always ask me where I get so many things to write about. Actually, its simple – the more you read, and the more you think about what you read, the more ideas you will have to share. I still make it part of my routine to read and scan through thousands of articles and as many books I can get every month.
The technology news is full of reports about the fact that Microsoft has decided not to pursue its bid to buy Yahoo. After three months of negotiation, Microsoft apparently decided that the price they were asking for was too high – Microsoft offered more than 70% premium over the public stock price of Yahoo, but apparently Yahoo felt that their price was nearer almost double what it was before Microsoft started to court it.

This post is way late. Late like the time I got to the iBlog4 venue together with Comicology author slash fellow Man-Blog editor Bim and the dashing Liz Lanuzo (darnit, we missed Brian Gorrell!).

I’ve been searching different video hosting sites especially the ever-popular YouTube for 5Street (as it is known in China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan) / HighStreet 5 videos, and I found more than what I am looking for - Gamers Harassed HighStreet 5!
Remember the Million Blog List I was talking about before? Guess what? There’s another one like it where you could place a link to your blog for free. No need to register. Just edit the list and add your blog in there. Here’s the link: Wiki Blog Directory.
And here’s another social media site similar to Blogsvine where you could submit your blog posts too; Yearblook. I found it through my regular commenter Chelle…

This environmental phenomenon is out of our control as people. When the vast skies shed its tears, it pours down to flood the earth. And our day might begin as restless or as comfy as it could ever be. It does affect our mood sometimes. When day plans are set to change due to weather conditions. Well, it has in deed changed mine! Life is unpredictable as always!

I wouldn’t complain if it rains and he is with me! What you think?

Hamam is a traditional Turkish bath.
We went to the famed Çemberlitas ( prounouced as chem-ber-litash ) Hamam. It was on the area of the Kapali Çarsi ( The Grand Bazaar). It was a double bath ( for men and women ) but the sections were separated. This hamam site was built in 1584 by one of Turkey’s famed architect , Sinan. He built this for Nurbanu Sultan, wife of Sultan Selin II.
We went there at nine in the evening. Just after dinner. We opted to get the full package which included the steam bath, 15-minute scrubbing, 30-minute massage, soap, kese ( scrubbing cloth), slippers, locker, and towels. We had to cough up 79 YTL ( around 68 USD) for it.

Yesterday, I was left alone at a friend’s house and I decided to watch this movie called “Facing the Giants”. The movie is about a high school football team that has grown accustomed to losing. Parents blame head coach Grant Taylor. Taylor blames his apathetic players. And the players blame former star players who transferred to other teams to escape the vicious cycle in hopes of being noticed by college scouts. With Taylor’s job on the line, and his personal life in chaos (he’s growing tired of not being able to provide a nice car and home for his wife, and he’s just discovered that he’s the reason his wife can’t get pregnant), he turns to God in a deep and moving way. Most of the people leaving entrecard always have this word in their mouth: BOUNCE RATE. They always complain that the traffic it produces is junk simply because they have lots of bounce rates which makes their blog stats ugly. I’m one of the guys who actually believed that bounce rates can really damage my blog’s performance leading to no search engine appreciation at all. But instead of removing my entrecard, I still cling on because of one reason. Most of my traffic comes from entrecard. And it’s like, remove it and my blog will die. That was until I read this post by Turnip…
May 1 may be more famous in the Philippines as Labor Day, but on the other side of the world, a campaign to raise awareness about RSS is also happening today. Continue reading the whole post…

We’ve all been following the news about La Mancha’s World Pyro Olympics, and we’ve all witnessed the delays and changes in the line-up of participants for this year’s WPO. But guess what? Tuloy na tuloy na!! Yes, the 2008 World Pyro Olympics will start this Saturday, May 3rd and there’s no stopping this grand pyrotechnics event in the Philippines (NOT even strong winds and heavy rain - we were there during the 1st WPO, twice it rained hard, but the show went on!)
Go visit my blog now to see the final schedule, the final list of participants, and the posters and announcements plastered all-over SM Mall of Asia, the world’s 3rd Largest Mall.
