Sometimes, when we are too close to something, we fail to see its beauty. This is probably the reason why there are still many Boholanos, especially those living at the coastal areas, who have yet to visit the viewing deck of the Chocolate Hills in Carmen, Bohol, or even the new one in Sagbayan, Bohol.
Because we know it is just nearby, we sort of miss out on how extraordinary the thing is. It is exactly the same with the Church of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception in Baclayon, Bohol, the second oldest stone Church in the Philippines. I don’t think many really appreciate its place in the history of our country.

So I realized I’ve been ranting too much on this blog. Well, if you did spend the morning commute with some schmuck’s armpit stuck to your face, you’d probably be ranting as much as I would first thing when you open up your blog, but that’s beside the point. You see, I’ve had a few recent complaints about the world that I haven’t blogged about lately, like humongous people (you know, people fatter than me) who block my way when I’m walking in a very narrow alleyway (also, I was late for work too), the girlfriend staying in Bryan Adams territory for a couple of weeks (TMB peeps: your company, with lots of beer to pass the time, is highly appreciated), or the drugstores that put their prettiest salesladies near the condom shelf, ensuing hilarity and judging, piercing stares when I go over and pick up one look at the display out of curiosity.
Thanks to my friend Jeff and some blogs I follow, including www.manuelviloria.com and www.pinoymoneytalk.com, I learned about and was able to attend this free seminar conducted yesterday, Saturday, at the Thomas Aquinas Research Center by a successful Filipino netpreneur, Joel Christopher.

Last Monday, two billboards fell on of a top bus terminal and an auto repair shop along EDSA’s southbound lane when a small cyclone swept through the highway injuring five people and snarling traffic.
On the next day, the Department of Public Works and Highways begun dismantling these 2 billboards and is continuing to remove any other illegal billboards along EDSA. This is in compliance with Arroyo’s Administrative Order 160 and 160-A, which aims to remove unsafe structures and advertisements.

Atomattic did it again. A few months ago they acquired IntenseDebate, today they purchased Polldaddy. Polldaddy is one of the top two third-party poll services being used by sites and blogs, the other one, a stiff competitor is Vizu.
Charlotte Jones, Group Product Manager for Microsoft’s MSN Groups, recently posted that MSN Groups will be shutting down early next year. This is in-line with the brand aligning of Microsoft as they prepare to launch Windows Live Groups. However, MSN Groups will not be migrated to WLG, but rather to Multiply – the 8th Largest Social Network.

A close-minded consumer group when combined to a PR savvy politician is really a big mess to the power industry and to the people who knows the issue very well. Read More…
After my long stay in Malaysia, a Malaysian friend of mine said “My girlfriend told me I’m fat already. It’s because I met this Filipino guy who I always bring to where the good food is.” Hospitality can really cost us new sets of clothes. I felt a bit guilty, so I tried to come up with fast solutions. If David Copperfield can make the statue of liberty disappear and David Blane can levitate on the air, there must be a way to make a fat person thin right?
Hindi ka ba nagtataka? Ang bagal-bagal maglakad ng karamihan sa atin.
Nakakainis. Well, minsan nakakainis talaga. Tuwing naglalakad ako sa kahabaan ng Ayala, hindi ako maka-ungos o maka-overtake man lang dahil sa kabagalan sa paglalakad ng ilan o sabihn na nating ka ramihan sa ating mga kababayan.

I am not rich. But I dare not call myself poor. This I say in respect for all those who live day by day, without a steady job or none at all, those who do not have access to basic necessities such as food or medicine. I am not poor. I may not have a large amount of cash in my wallet, but having a wallet is a blessing in itself.
