It’s Halloween and it’s the last day of Zombie DVD Week! What better way to end this most spooktacular event than with the movie that pushed zombie movies back into the public consciousness? An instant cult classic, I just have to pay my respects to Shaun of the Dead.

Napapagod na ba kayo? Gusto niyo bang mapadali ang ginagawa at mag-relax na lang? Gusto niyo bang may alilain at madala ito kung saan-saan?
From a Zack Snyder remake of a George A. Romero classic that involves the dawn of a zombie apocalypse, we will now take a look into a movie by the master himself, George A. Romero. Let’s continue this Zombie DVD Week by taking a peek into a world where a zombie holocaust has already taken place. Welcome to George A. Romero’s Land of the Dead!

Sa pagtuklas ko ng passion sa buhay ko, naisip ko na, a great way to start rekindling your passion is by reading a book on a topic that you like. So nung nagkaron ako ng pagkakataon, punta naman ako agad sa National Bookstore.
Syempre tingin muna sa mga naka display na newly published books at mga “best sellers”, nang makita ko yun libro ni George Soros titled “The New Paradigm for Financial Markets: The Credit Crisis of 2008 and What it Means”. [...more]
I’ve often asked myself this question, though I could never really come up with a sensible answer.
Halloween is a few days away, so leave it to me to celebrate it the whole week by reviewing 3 zombie movies. That’s right. All 3 DVDs I’ll be talking about this week have “of the Dead” in their title. If you ask me, all movies should have “of the Dead” in their title. “Tropic Thunder of the Dead”. “Body of Lies of the Dead”. “High School Musical of the Dead”. I can do this all day. But I digress. Let’s begin Zombie DVD Week, shall we?

I used to reserve countdowns to occasions that mean a lot of eating and pigging out, but the US Presidential Elections is such an important event that it deserves its own hallowed place in my countdown list. I don’t give a damn about the global financial crisis because all my bank accounts add up to a grand total of 39.27 Philippine Pesos. Oh, I forgot to mention that I have only one bank account.
The Lehman Brothers, Freddie Mac, Freddie Mae and all those odd-sounding financial institutions may collapse like a deck of cards, yet I will be the least affected by this scenario. What is more relevant than the panicking traders in Wall Street is the US Presidential Elections on November 8, 2008. Two presidential candidates going by the names of Barack Obama and John McCain (in no particular order) as well as a slew of meaningless, obscure nuisances (is Ralph Nader in the mix?) vie for the much maligned position of American President in a world that has become more and more anti-American by the minute.
Yeah, good old Dubya will have to bid farewell early next year. Good riddance, Mr. Bush. We hope that your decision to send troops to Godforsaken places like Iraq and Afghanistan will bode well for America’s future and result in Osama Bin Laden’s foot soldiers getting a good a-whipping. We hope that your recent $700 billion bailout plan will help the world economy back on its shaky feet. You deserve a pat on the back for your earnest efforts. Only history will judge your performance as US President, but for the meantime, let’s place judgment on the two major presidential candidates who are looking for a 4-year lease on White House.
The American shopper is easy to persuade. If you know how, you can make him buy what he doesn’t even want or need. That’s what I learned during crash training in sales for my call centre job. The trick is to be confident, and always always recommend. That is the key word. Americans are looking for an expert. They want someone who’s going to tell them that this is what you need and this is what you should want. When Americans go shopping, their minds aren’t usually made up as to what to buy and the American salesman knows this. This is why he would be recommending to the customer what he should buy. The American (if he’s ready to make the purchase) would more likely than not make the purchase.
Yes, that’s right the Banko Sentral ng Pilipinas issued a circular last May this year amending the number of (and expanding the type of ) valid identification cards needed by a person to open a bank account. Supposedly, fifteen days after the date of issuance, banks should be following this new regulation.
That is the time that I work.
Yes, I work at nights. I am not however a bad person, nor am I an antisocial.
I am simply a call center agent on a graveyard shift.
If you have been wondering how to set up that account in SSS to make online inquiries like loan eligibilty, and premium payments, here’s a step by step guide.
Ésta es una versión de Rosalinda cantada por un filipino que se llama Sheng. Su pronunciación de Español es muy buena. Ella canta como una nativa.
Have you ever heard of pink sand? There’s white sand, and yes there are also pink sand beaches.
From Zamboanga city, you have two options on how to reach Manila. By plane (45 minutes) or by boat (2 days). Of course, the latter is more affordable. However, the main reason why I chose to travel by boat to Manila is the fact that I wanted to feel like I am vacationing. I wanted to see sights that I have never seen in my life. I wanted to see islands, cities, lush tropicalgreenery, and turquoise waters,
Anyway, almost a year of being in Manila, the only place I have been to (really have been to) is Subic. I did not even really like Subic (at least where we went to). Of course, there have been numerous places which I have been to in passing, like Bulacan and some municipalities in Pampanga (going to Subic), Cebu (docked on its port), and oh I also have been to Cardona (and passed by other towns in Rizal like Tanay) last Christmas. If you count cities in metro Manila, well I have been to Quezon city, Manila city, Mandaluyong city, Makati city, Marikina city, and Pasay city.
I feel sad that when I was in Zamboanga city I never really went out that often. I mean I went out but I never really ventured out to far off places like the falls, and the far flung resorts and public beaches. And now that I’m in Manila, I try to visit every historical site and every attraction in the place.
Here are the places in Manila which I have yet to visit and plan to visit in the next few weeks…
This is the winning piece in the 25th Chabacano song festival (sung and composed? by JC Dinglasa during the actual contest. This video was made by drivethru75 and the person singing in the video is Benjie A. Mahasol.
This video features an edited version of Biyahe na! (a song sung in the video of DOT’s tourism campaign called WOW Philippined) and photos of Zamboanga Hermosa.
I could describe Comic Relief in two words: cutting edge. Gone now are the times when all the Chabacano songs that we hear were about the place itself. We finally heard a pop song in Chabacano. What’s great is that it’s not just any Chabacano pop song, it’s a good one too. It doesn’t sound corny like the other songs that we hear and it’s very modernized so the youth could very much relate to it.
Science and religion might not mix, but business and religion can. This is what I found out after reading this article on Inquirer.net
