In the historic Senate vote on the US bases treaty, 12 senators voted for non-concurrence on September 16, 1991.

Once again, my hats off to the Magnificent 12 – Senators Jovito Salonga, Butz Aquino, Juan Ponce Enrile, Joseph Estrada, Tito Guingona, Sotero Laurel, Ernie Maceda, Orly Mercado, Nene Pimentel, Rene Saguisag, Bobby Tanada, and Victor Ziga.

Today, the country needs at least 8 senators to do the same to uphold our sovereignty and dignity and vote against JPEPA.

I’m writing a scientific proposal. These are set of ideas to be tested in the real world, and besides me is this book, to describe my ideas. In capital letters, I’m RECOMMENDING THIS BOOK TO BE BESIDE EVERY SCIENCE WRITING PROJECT for scientists and engineers. It’s the best thing that happened to me after slice bread. Before, I thought my writing skills were good, but honestly it’s not.

Science writing and blogging or novel writing are different things. In blogging, you may use fat phrases or words needlessly, but in science, leave elegance to the tailor. Check some of the examples of the book.

So today, the Beijing Olympics officially start. Not that I care, of course. Everybody knows that I’m a big tub of lard whose main physical activity would be the three minute walk from my bed to the computer table. To Plurk. Microsoft Office 2007 products (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook etc) lockup/crash when closing or during usage.

DISCUSSION:

Issue(s) seem to be related to a PDF plug-in installed. Issues have been seen with the Adobe PDF plug-in when a HP printer selected as the default printer (Issue may occur with other brands of printers but all reports I have so far are from HP printers). Other issues have been seen with ScanSoft PDF Create installed.

WORKAROUND:

For systems having issues with the HP printer assigned as the default printer, try the following steps:

This is a photo of myself with some of my brothers and sisters in UPLB MASS taken in December 2004 at UPLB’s Carabao Park. After an org activity, we decided to just dick around the park and bask in the simple beauty of a cool December evening while being surrounded by Christmas lights and friends. It was just us, the trees, the stars, the lights, and the pond. That was what being in UP Los Baños meant to me. Simple joys. Complex relationships. All under the warm shadow of Oble.

I was researching what eigenstate is and found a good explanation from the web.

An eigenstate is one of the many possible states which may exist prior to quantum decoherence

Ok, I don’t know what quantum decoherence means, but here’s a better analogy.

The story of Schrodinger’s Cat is one of the most well known story involving eigenstates. The story goes like this:

There’s a cat inside a box, with a poison ready to be release anytime. Since you don’t know when the poison is released, the cat is either alive or dead. Alive and dead is the eigenstates.

While checking JJ’s blog and her RSS problem, I stumbled about a trick to get some detailed statistics on about any FeedBurner feed as long as they have the FeedCount service activated.

This is useful if you want to find out a blog’s RSS subscriber count (if they really have guzzillions subscribers as they say).

For starters, you should know that the name of the FeedBurner feed is generally written after the slash. On my blog for example, the URL of the FeedBurner feed is feeds.feedburner.com/Lloydlopez wherein Lloydlopez is the feedname.
