The whole point of this post is to show off the pretty kickass video I made off the Godskitchen Event at A-Venue last 08.08.08. Uh-huh, this is a vlog right here, baby! The intro part showing my URL I made using Adobe After Effects and I kind of dig the “in your face” vibe it’s got going. Quite timely for the Beijing Olympics, too, owing to the fireworks/sparks as pointed out by Irvin aka Bulitas.

It’s not too long ago since Arnel Pineda was discovered last year by Neal Schon, guitarist of the legendary and multi-platinum band “Journey”. It made fellow Filipinos be proud of Arnel while a lot of fans of the band worldwide have also embraced him. And now, Arnel and the rest of “Journey” comes with a revelation.
Pambihira, they’re good! Hey, Ichi and Karl. You should watch our good friend, Ramil’s show, The Rakenrol Haybol Show. It’s like Wayne’s World, MTV’s Beavis and Butthead, and ABC-5′s The Misadventures of Maverick and Ariel, all rolled into one. The show has that funny “rocker/tambay sa kanto” humor. More…
The Philippines will host the Olympics—but not soon. This was obtained in a report from Malacañang the other day, according to a reliable source, that a statement was made by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo before she left for Beijing to attend the opening ceremonies of the 29th Olympiad.
The source also said that he even got hold of confidential copies of a “Master Plan” for the said event. More…
Have you seen the new (or so I am assuming) commercial for Dunkin Donuts? I swear I had to do immediately gather my two kids and tell them that what they had just seen was not to be copied. Both of them were laughing at first but after seeing my serious expression, they turned somber and said “Yes, mommy”. We saw it shown on Star World today.

Last Friday, August 8, 2008, 8PM, many Filipinos have gone to Sharon Cuneta’s grand concert hailing it as “Sharon Mega 30″ but for Decode Society and the rest of their friends, allies, geeks and geekozoids (a small group of people), it was a time of anticipation and gathering of what is to be a pivotal event in modern history. No, we are not conquering the world, as much as we want to as geeks. We just gathered in one small library in Quezon City, and set up a 7 feet high and 17 feet wide projector screen, and we tuned in to Solar Sports (that is, with no commercial breaks) and watched in awe what the rest of the world (except the Philippines) is watching.
We watched the Opening of Beijing Olympics 2008, with millions tuning in from all over Asia and the world. Read more…

As you all know, I’m a bassist. A really lousy one, but whatev. So anyway, for the longest time I’ve been borrowing bass guitars left and right mainly because my old bass hasn’t really been usable.

If you remember, way back in January, I wished for a new bass. More »

Ever since Plurk gave plurkers (with karma over 25) the ability to customize their profiles with some CSS sorcery, I promised myself I’ll get into the action just because. And now, I’ve finally joined the fray. Behold! My first Plurk customized theme that I’d like to call DOOM! (for obvious reasons). Click on the thumbnails to enlarge the screenshots.
Who said, “A coward dies a thousand deaths, the brave die but once.”? And who said, “Take courage, it is I; do not be afraid.”? (19th Sunday in Ordinary Time)

Grabe. Tumatanda na yata talaga ako. Hindi ko napansin, tatlong taon na pala akong nagba-blog?! Yap, 3 years na.
In the streets of old Binondo was where I, along with some of my friends and cousins, decided to walk one Sunday afternoon to rediscover one part of old Manila. But rather than let words describe what I saw, this time let me take you to a visual tour of scenes through some photos I took during our walk around some parts of Binondo, Manila.

You would be surprised to know that although I love to eat and I mostly eat anything or at least try anything, I am extremely hesitant about anything that appears to contain a variety of spices I am not familiar with. Take Indian food. It would probably be the last food I will try, personally. Not that I have had the opportunity to try it but I have seen and smelled the spices that they use in their dishes that I have learned to stay away from it (my loss truly).
In the middle of our last choir practice before of our performance, I made a little impromptu (okay, okay… it was quite long and drawn-out) speech to the choir. I said it mostly in Filipino, and this is more or less the translated version:
Okay guys, let’s stop for a while and please listen to me. Please turn off the TV for awhile… I know it’s the last few weeks of Lobo but you’ll find out what happens tomorrow during the Ang Nakaraan portion.

(I usually allow the television in the practice room to be turned on softly so that those who are waiting for their turn for me to teach their parts wouldn’t get so bored).
I’m going to say goodbye to you now because we might be all too busy during the National Day Reception for Honey and me to properly say goodbye to you. And don’t expect us to throw a party either. I mean… I love you guys and all that but I’m not going to wash all those plates. So I’ll do it now.

Most dreamy-eyed brides go to their grand Cinderella-weddings in flower-laden long white limousines which goes by the name of “bridal car.” Myself, I had no such luck. Instead, I went to my wedding in a “bridal truck”.

I have somehow acquired the habit of listening to Mo Twister’s program on 89.9 every morning. I find their morning banter and bashing refreshing to my often sleepy morning. It beats two cups of coffee at least. I also find their topics quite interesting and silly at times that you just cant help but listen and laugh at all the funny anecdotes that other listeners share over the radio.
