It’s Andrew Lloyd Weber week for your Top 6 on American Idol 7. I suggest for the gentlemen to don your best top hats/tuxedos and ladies, please spray anti-dust mite before wearing those awful feather boas (I mean, when did chicken and bird stink become fashionable on humans anyway?) and tasseled, itchy, and lacy dresses abominations (stay away from me while you’re in those because the smell reminds me of my great grandma, post-humus, srsly). Sit back, restrain yourself, and listen to the excruciating renditions brought to you by your finalists as they take on songs that may bore non-theater fans and the non-musically-inclined to non-existence.

Let’s begin.

We are so much dependent on the technology today.  One friend i knew is that he cant live without his mobile phone that he uses for texting or making a call in a day. While making a call on his right, he still manages to text on the left while working on his notebook on his front.  We are so techno stressed.  As Aileen defines it, here are the signs if you are a techno-stressed:

What if “So Fetch!” Happened?

Wednesday

mean girls week

Gretchen: That is so fetch!
Regina: Gretchen, stop trying to make fetch happen! It’s not going to happen!

Gretchen, Regina’s right hand bitch, tried to make “So fetch!” happen. She really did. But alas, it did not. Queen bee Regina’s antagonism didn’t help. But what if it did happen? This being Mean Girls Week, I feel that it’s my duty as a responsible blogger to ask and explore the question “What if So fetch! happened?”

Earth Day walk and a hop

Wednesday
Apr 23,2008

I walked my way to the office yesterday to fulfill one of the suggestions I made on what-to-do to mark Earth Day.

It took me almost an hour to cover about five kilometers from my home at Matina to the City Council. I left shortly before 8 and was at the session hall in time for its opening.

It was a worthy walk for a worthy cause in calling attention to help Mother Earth fight abuse.

So today, I turned 25. Dammit, I’m old.

I don’t know. I used to look forward to my birthday because birthdays bring with them gifts, parties, and generally happy atmosphere. Now I just dread them, mainly because it’s a reminder that I’ve wasted another year passed by with me doing nothing but writing profane jokes in what the kids call a “blog” (seriously, what the hell is this thinggummy you kids call blogs? Is it an online diary or something? Coz that’s so gay).

So to start off my birthday, the construction workers in our street greeted me by way of this awesome dialogue repeated ad nauseam, a.k.a. conspiracy flashback:

Guy: PUTANG INA NAMAN! MAGSAING KA NA! MAGTATRABAHO PA AKO!
Wife: LECHE KA! KUNG DI MO INUBUS ANG PERA NATIN SA GIN KAGABI MAY ISASAING AKO!
Son: Ang iingay nyo! Di ako makapag konsentreyt sa laru ko! Binabato ko lahat ng dumadaan dito eh! Tapos mamaya sisinghot pa ako ng rugby habang kumakanta ng Salbakuta.
Guy: Ang galing mo anak! Keep it up, tatanda ka na katulad ko!
Son: Oo naman tay, idol kita eh! Hay payb!

I seriously don’t know of a better way to start off a birthday. A knifefight maybe? With the end result of one of the construction worker’s guts on the street just in front of our house? That would be perfect, but you have to remember: they took out the streets in our village and turned them into muddy mush!

Anyway, to remind me of my impending mortality (and alleged ambiguous sexuality. Those assholes), the monkeys over at The Man Blog Forum gave me these gifts:

Pau first figured out it was my birthday. Glad that there was somebody catching up with his age, he gave me this:

A Google image search result for the keywords “Ade gay”. Go figure.

Another Filipino in the name of Madonna Decena is making a name abroad just like our Ramiele Malubay, Mariel Jacoda, Charice Pempengco, among others. In fact, her talent has been shown in different venues–from restaurants to stadiums, and now on the new season of TV show “Britain’s Got Talent”, the British counterpart of American Idol.

hayy!!! It’s been a long time since I haven’t promoted my blog here. Anyways I’m back again to promote a new blog of mine: ULUPONGdotcom.
Anyways, here it goes…

Deep Linking means linking to a specific page or image of a website instead of that site’s index or home page. On the contrary, reciprocal linking is done by exchanging links which are only pointing to the sites’ index or home page. Both links count to search engines most especially if the back link or referring link is coming from a relevant blog, post, or keyword. But what’s great about deep linking is that, when you have lots of it, it helps in your overall page rank which is reflected in your index page.

From how I understand it, besides the link popularity of your index page, search engines reward you for the incoming deep links to your site. It’s another way of showing them that your site has relevant content and not a spam site that’s why you’re getting all these deep links. Links pointing only to your index page can be viewed by search engine algorithms as a product of schemes meant to trick them; whereas deep links are less subject to that. Additionally, it doesn’t take that many links to get a specific deep page ranked as compared to the index page.

Taxi-ing around the metro

One of the most convenient ways to go around Manila is to use taxi cabs. We have roughly 3 kinds of taxis. Let me just run you down these types:

1. Private owned: Most private owned taxis are known to haggle before they convey you to your destination. Some of them would ask for an extra 20-50 pesos depending on where you’re going. Don’t give in! These guys are con artists and would haggle like hell to get more money. Most of the time, if you don’t agree on a price, they just leave.

Healthy Ozone on Earth Day

Tuesday
Apr 22,2008

The ozone layer of the so-called Earth serves us mankind’s safety net against harmful ultraviolet radiation which can cause harm to people’s health and environment. Halon is estimated to account for about 20% of ozone depletion since it has 10 times more potential of destroying the ozone layer than that of common refrigerants like those found in automobile air conditioners. Halon together with other man-made chemicals contribute to stratospheric ozone destruction. Such chemicals escape into the atmosphere where they are broken down by solar radiation, then releasing chlorine and bromine atoms which in turn destroy ozone molecules by way of chain reaction. Halon is said to be a major source of bromine.

A Repertory Philippines error has found its way to the New York Times.

In January 2007, Rep staged a comedy called Moose Murders. In its playbill, posters and flyers, it identified the playwright as Frank Rich. But, in fact, it wasn’t Frank Rich, theater critic or otherwise, who wrote Moose Murders. It was a guy named Arthur Bicknell…
