It was a hell of a Pacquiao vs Marquez rematch fight with an uncertain ending, that captivated the boxing world even when the Pacquiao vs Marquez 2 winner was announced. The back and forth momentum catapulted the fighters into what could be only describe as a classic match-up. The fighters countrymen was all eye on this historic fight, as Philippines Cheered for Manny Pacquiao. What an fight, what a match-up, it certainly wasn’t as boring as the previous fights.
For those who missed it, the Entire Pacquiao vs Marquez 2 HBO Fight is now available in summarized 10 minute video.
After the OFW brouhaha, Malu Fernandez has once again tried to ruffle everyone’s feathers by being as tactless as she hits this time, the people who brought that issue into the open – bloggers. In her latest article, “The Problem With Blogging…“, she says:
I believe in the freedom of speech. By all means say what you need to say. Unfortunately for most of the bloggers without advertising you get paid nothing. If in fact you do get paid then hooray for you. But blogging, aside from Perez Hilton and the other big time bloggers (you know who you are) is for me a slacker job or a medium and pastime for lonely people to connect. Unless you’re in bloody Siberia or in a Gulag prison, try stepping outside your comfort zone and turn off the laptop or pc, you just might find some real live people to talk to instead of typing away in cyber space.
Okay, I admit I refused to comment on the issue the first time it came out because, honestly, I find it LOL. Read More>>
Several years ago, applying for a PLDT landline takes years to be approved. But that’s no longer a problem today with the introduction of PLDT Landline Plus Prepaid. PLDT Landline Plus Prepaid SIM is the latest wireless product from PLDT that enables anyone who owns a GSM mobile phone to have a “landline” of their own. Anytime, anyplace, and nearly everywhere. MOBILINE!

On my post, “The Reason Why I am Afraid of Guest Posting Here on PinoyBlogero.com”, I asked my readers on whether or not I should accept guest posting here on my blog. It was a problem that I was having second thoughts with for the longest time, which is why I decided to leave the decision making to the hands of my readers. The replies that I got were a number of “No, please don’t do guest posting”, a couple of “Sure. Go ahead”, and some “Why are you asking us? You’re the blogger. You decide”.
When it comes to making big decisions on my blog, I try to make it into a habit of asking my readers about the issue before taking any action. There are some people, however, who think that the decision should be entirely up to the blogger because they are the ones in charge of their blogs. They can do anything they want with it, so why ask the readers?Aileen Apolo left a comment saying “I think it (your decision) depends on what you are comfortable with and not what your readers want. It’s your blog and as Yolynne said in my blog, “You’re the president of your blog!”
Although, it is true that we can do anything we want with our blogs and we have full authority over it. Shouldn’t we consider what our readers want? After all, aren’t they the ones who will be directly affected by the changes?
How I would love to jazz up a glass of OJ with really cool ice cubes. Well, yeah, ice is supposed to be cool, er, cold, but they can be cool too. Eh? Ah well you’ll know what I mean when you see the following totally awesome ice cube trays I came upon online.
Tetris Ice Cube Trays
Pour a different colored juice in each mold — strawberry, orange juice, lemonade, grape, etc. When they’re all frozen, you can do your own version of Tetris ice cube style! Or just plop a piece in a glass filled with Sprite and it’d still look pretty cool. [source|via]

I, like all other Filipinos, have been constantly keeping track of the Lozada expose for the past weeks. And just like other exposes in the past, I have grown cynical about the conclusion of such revelations. I could not recall any instance where congressional investigations had led to positive results, not even a report or decision on the cases that were investigated. Most often, I have witnessed how congressional inquiries have become instruments to propagandizing and furthering interests of solons.
Public distrust towards congressional investigations could have been the reason why the people have become less rational but more emotional on the Lozada expose – trusting more on gut feels and instincts as bases for judging the government and even Lozada himself.
It is important that the people take this issue rationally. I am glad that our other democratic institutions are now also looking at the controversy. The Senate spearheaded the investigation and now the Ombudsman is doing its own probe. Soon, the courts will be stepping in. These separate and independent institutions should ferret out the truth.
We should not be swept by our emotions in seeking for the truth. We are all longing for the truth but the truth can only be achieved if we are sane enough to search for it in the proper venues and not on the streets. For all we know, the truth we are seeking may not be totally the same as what we believed it to be and, in the end, all of us will suffer the consequences.

So anyway, I guess that after two years of blogging, I earn the right to give some advice to personal bloggers out there, especially the new ones. These tips are not on how to increase traffic in your blog and how to make money. Besides the fact that no way am I an authority in that area, there are also a lot of other blogs out there which can give that information. But I could give some advice, especially on personal blogging, so that you guys would continue to blog, even during the times when it’s difficult, a bit of a struggle, boring, and stressful.

Phew. Sorry if I didn’t post much this past week, my final exams prevented me from blogging. One more project defense this Monday and I’m officially free from school works! Goodluck to me!
Here’s a list of interesting articles and news about the Pinoy blogosphere during the past two weeks. Oh, and also some Pacquiao news! Enjoy!
La Maison, french for “the house” is a high end dining establishment with posh masculine interiors that go along with its offering of steaks and ribs. The one at Greenbelt 5 had a motif of brown and white which reminded me of hotels and cigar bars. Others may become intimidated which is probably why the place was filled with “suits”.
The Situation: me and my band were in a coffee shop somewhere in Tomas Morato, drinking coffee (duh), annoying the fuck out of the laptop-weilding patrons who look like they’re about to close a deal or something but the fact that we were in a corner playing the guitars and loudly singing off-tune (we were, erm, composing songs. Shut up.) were preventing them from getting any real work done.
Also, we ended up in a Thai restaurant where we overloaded on curry dishes until I felt like throwing up all over the place. Read the rest of this entry »
The rules are easy. I will ask a question. The first person who comments will answer my question, and will leave a question for the next person to answer. This next person will answer that question, and leave a question for the next next person to answer. I am sure you get it!
To make things more fun, the questions have to reflect the chosen theme. For example, if the theme is VIDEO GAMES, all questions should relate to gaming. What video game has recently kept you up all night? How bad has your video game addiction gone? As much as possible, let’s not repeat the questions for added fun! You are also welcome to play more than once.
Why don’t we cross our fingers for the thirteenth weekend soiree?
The theme: DREAMS
My question for Person #1: Did you ever dream of getting that white picket fence for your home?
Kudos! To Mayor Lim.
Reported in Inquirer.net (Article 1, Article 2) is an article about Mayor Lim’s son being arrested in a drug bust operation. When Mayor Lim was asked for a comment, he said he won’t interfere with the case. He said, “He’s 44 years old, he should be ready to face the consequences of his actions. Let him suffer for his actions.” >>> CONTINUE READING
It was good while it lasted. I appreciate everything you’ve done for me, and I’m sure the feeling is mutual. Things were great for a while and you offered me a life of excitement at some point. But we both know it won’t last forever. Relationships like this, especially for a young person like me, aren’t meant to endure forever. 5 years maybe at the most. Well for us, it was a 4-year-and-9-month itch that was waiting to be scratched.
It’s a story we couldn’t ignore. The names involved are fixtures in society pages, the instrument of choice is “that artifact of our times: a blog,” and the astounding numbers point to a phenomenon. It’s the elephant in the room that the country’s major papers and TV networks have ignored for about a week now.
But, yes, today’s issue of Inquirer Lifestyle has finally taken up The Blog. The major story, a contributed piece, gives a brief recap of the controversy, but more importantly, explains why, in terms of numbers alone, this merits attention…
