The high definition media war is finally over and Toshiba’s HD-DVD finally raises the white flag. Toshiba said it would stop promoting its HD DVD format for the next-generation DVD after losing the support of key studios and retailers to the Blu-ray technology backed by Sony.
Overall, 730,000 units were sold worldwide and majority is in the US which 300,000 of those are Xbox 360 HD DVD drives. Microsoft’s PR Team already sent out a statement regarding these developments and the rumors about an Xbox 360 Blu-ray add on.
Ever since I got me that ASUS Eee PC on a whim I realize that I’ve been spending more and more time on it than I’m supposed to. I guess the fact that I can fap off to porn in the privacy of my room is one of the reasons. And weirdly, the internet on my laptop is faster than on my virus-and-spyware-laden desktop computer. Also I’m getting the hang of tweaking my laptop’s Linux installation and it’s taking up my time. Finally, I’m pretty sure I just wrote more nerdese than I ever did in the two years of my blog and as a result I can actually feel the 50% drop in subscribers and traffic from here. You assholes.

I’m afraid that I’m becoming your regular nerd who locks himself up in his room, doing nothing but play around with Linux installing all sorts of useless apps. In fact, judging from the speed of my nerdification, I’ll probably get asthma in two weeks, lose whatever is left of my fashion sense and start wearing orange pleated pants with lime green socks, and get 27 pimples per square inch of my face. And switch my masturbatory fodder from porn to pictures of broken computer components. Read the rest of this entry »
After feasting like a king on a colossal buffet, I would usually solemnly resolve to myself to diet the very next day. “I would never eat anything again for the rest of my life,” I would swear. The very next day, I would have pancakes with peanut butter for breakfast and gulp down banana cakes and chocolate eclairs for dessert after lunch. My resolution is, of course, impossible to keep.
It’s the same with blogging. After an extra-long hiatus (and I’ve had lots on this past second year of blogging), I would usually resolve, “I will blog every single day of my life.” This would be followed by another long bout of blogging laziness.
It’s not that I don’t have anything to blog about… I have a massive repository of blogging topics which I keep in notebooks, post-its, index cards, in the computer, and the storage which has the least reliability and memory space… my brain.
So the topic for today is about my topics… topics which I have intended to blog about but never have because of a variety of reasons… too boring, too moot, too big, I’m not in the mood, I don’t have enough info, too baduy (tacky)… you get the picture. So here they are… my blogging topics:

“We are working on trying to figure out a story arc for season 4 and how it would all play out, etc. while not leaving things hanging from season 3. I am confident we will get another season. There are no guarantees, but I’d be shocked if it didn’t happen.” Nick Santora said.

If you want to chill, relax and reflect, I suggest you take and listen to the Music of Jack Johnson. I’m sure many could relate to his songs, songs about saying goodbye to people you love and to people you will surely miss.
Today the Clinton campaign launched a new attack showing how Barack plagiarised portion of Deval Patrick’s campaign speeches. Obama suggested that Deval allowed him to use his language because according to some source Obama and Patrick have said they are close friends and regularly share lines. Would this mean that he’s allowed to use Patrick’s lines?

Malaysian agrees to ratify Asean Charter
Summary: Simple, Malaysia is the 2nd member Nation (and one of the founder of ASEAN) to ratify the 1st ASEAN Charter/Constitution. (Personal note: My dear Philippine leaders, please, as one of the founder of ASEAN, and as a respect to our ancestors to whom the idea of a regional body originated, please ratify the Asean Charter!)
Here is a quick summary of the main part of the ASEAN Awareness Survey conducted by Dr. Eric C. Thompson, National University of Singapore, and Dr. Chulanee Thianthai, Chulalongkorn University, on behalf of the ASEAN Foundation, with support provided by the Government of the Republic of Korea.
Philippines: At the other end of ASEAN from Myanmar (at least geographically), students from the Philippines also exhibited a relatively weak domain knowledge of the regional Association and its members. On the other hand, their attitudes toward ASEAN were generally positive and their responses tended to follow general regionwide trends.
Malaysia is the second ASEAN member that ratified the 1st ASEAN Charter, but do you know that there is still much to be done? No, I’m not talking about the mumbo-jumbo elite high-level talks of our dear leaders, I am talking about what YOU and me must and need to do. But where are we lacking anyway? Which is our job as ordinary people? Read on and you will know.

Yep. I know, it’s not a weekend recap anymore. Better late than never, right?

…we are all victims of the abuses made by the Arroyo administration to our battered nation.
And just like battered women who have successfully left their abusive husbands, so too must we say goodbye to the Arroyo administration. We must move away from our delusion that things will get better if we give them another chance. It’s time we come to the realization that this administration has put our nation in danger. We must say to ourselves, “We deserve better!”
We must force ourselves to take rational action and show our government that abuse of power is unacceptable and we will not tolerate it any longer. We have to show our support for Jun Lozada so that other witnesses can come out and tell their stories about the ills of the Arroyo administration… Click here and continue reading…
