Christmas can be fun. Christmas can be a time of happiness. And after Christmas, we’re dead tired. It leaves nothing lasting in us. It’s because we’ve made Christmas skin-deep. But there’s a way for Christmas to reach deep inside us. Third Sunday of Advent

Office romance

Friday

Are office romances really kept secret?

I was chatting with some lady friends today about someone we knew who was having a “secret” relationship with a colleague. Secret meaning they think nobody knows when in fact, the whole office does. Secret meaning no one should know when in fact everybody does… everybody except the guy’s “official” girlfriend.

The story reminded me of another couple from years back. In fact, it reminded me of several other couples I know who have, at one time or another, indulged in this kind of a hookup. The type which we call office romance. Sometimes they are healthy and welcome, at times they are deceptive and most other times they border on the illicit or immoral.

Woah Nelly! Nakaka-199 posts na pala ako dito. So kung 199 ngayon, ang susunod 200 na. Sabagay, alanganin namang maging 201 kagad yun.

There’s no business like the dolphin show-business.

Following the example and suggestion of fellow bloggers on animal welfare related issues, Liza and Ted, and after seeing video clips about how dolphins are treated in some parts of the world (Japan particularly), I’ve now included dolphins in this blog’s campaigns. After all, if you think about it, dolphins in dolphin shows are very much like the shelter animals in that they’re all homeless— well, unless you consider a pool filled with chlorinated water home…

Dolphins are some of the most intelligent inhabitants of this planet and it takes only a small amount of empathy to realize what they must go through when they are subjected to cruelty of any magnitude.

There is no better way of comparing free Anti-virus/Anti-spyware programs other than personal experience. And when it comes to the experience of a person who regularly installs unpopular and fairly unreliable software from the internet, and he who occasionally browse virus and spyware infested “pron”, mp3 download, and software hacking sites,

When Boholanos talk about “our President”, there is a big chance we are not talking about the incumbent. More likely, we are talking about the first and only Philippine President who came from our dear province.

Carlos P. Garcia was born on November 4, 1896 in Talibon, Bohol to Policronio Garcia and Ambrosia Polistico. He grew up with politics in his blood, his father having served as Municipal Mayor for four (4) terms. He married pharmacist Leonila “Inday” Dimataga-Garcia and had one daughter named Linda Garcia who later married Fernando Campos.

Large communities like webmaster forums thrive on interactions between members. Novices and Experts share opinions. Marketeers get the chance to establish their products. The same goes in blogs.

Blog commenting is one of the oldest marketing strategy of bloggers. In today’s internet world where blogs are built upon communities and communities are built upon blogs, comments have been very important to establish a dialog with readers. This gives readers a chance to participate and feel involved in a discussion or debate about a certain topic.

Where are all the video resumes?

Where are all the video resumes?

You’ve been hearing about this tool being used by job seekers in the west but why it did not reach in the Philippines? Actually, it’s not popular either out there for a fact that they started the crazy idea so how much more in our country to day where in bandwidth and internet access to our employees has been an issue. If you’ll check on YouTube then you’ll see thousands of video resumes.

Moreover, I really find the idea fantastic but somehow I find it so funny or odd. We Filipinos love watching movies and we all know that but one thing also that we Filipinos love doing is criticizing. We’ll constructive criticism as you justify it.

James from PinoyMoneyTalk just recently discovered a new feature being tested on Google AdSense: Scrolling Ads.

As you can see on the image above, there are two little clickable buttons on the lower-left corner of the AdSense unit that let’s you scroll through advertisements. These buttons can also be placed on other sizes of AdSense units like the leaderboard and banner sizes.

Where would you get your next employee?

This has been a common question to most recruiters recently whether the company is big or small. Others would rather stick to the traditional approach i.e. news paper postings since they’ve got good experiences using that system. To others who can really afford or who just wanted to exploit those job seekers who use the internet as their medium of searching for their next employer they tend to rely on various expensive job portals.  With both trends being used by companies right now, where in the latter is more or less 10 yrs older, I’m sorry to tell you this that your stuck on both old systems that is not really effective to date and shall I say that your recruiters are not doing their job, that you never utilized every resources and means available or simply put you fail to innovate.

Let me drop this question to employers who’ve been using both mediums as their only approach in luring applicants to your vacancies.

How effective was the approach? I define effectiveness here where in you are still in contact with those potential applicants 24/7 out from those methods i.e. news paper postings and job portal subscriptions. Another question is, were the applicants who came from those medium qualified or even potential for the position without even lowering your standards? Is it worth keeping their resumes (efile’s & hard copies) for a fact that resumes gets obsolete after 6 months? Was it worth the investment or resources – time? Well of course cases in point here are dependent to what type of industry you are into. But before flooding me your answers you might consider my points.

The most common problems a recruiter would most likely encounter is that, when a vacancy is available and you now have an eyed applicant in your pool. You start retrieving his/her resume and start calling the potential applicant only to find out that his contact information is not anymore active. To make the matter worst, his not open for the post and his resume is already 6 – 9 months old, not unless if this applicant has been sending you his/her updated resume every week so I would presume also that you’re company has been spending again and again just to get these resumes filed in your resume banks. And then your databank crashes gone are those efiles – resume.

Lukso Ng Dugo

Barong Tagalog

Thursday
Dec 13,2007

The Barong Tagalog is a national dress of Filipino men, it symbolize of bieng a gentleman and respect. We the OFW and OCW is proud of bieng a Filipino here in abroad, we even introduce the Barong Tagalog to the people here in abroad,, of course as proudly Filipino trademark.. One time my Filipino friend planning to make a vacation in our motherland together with some western friend…She told me that how excited she was and very proud because she wants to introduce the beautiful places in the Philippines..To make it short she landed in Manila international airport together with the western friends. She told them “welcome to the Philippines” , then outside in the airport at the arrival door thier is a lot of men wore in barong  tagalog approaching to her saying this line “may pang kape ba tayo dyan mam”, she was shock fell ashamed to her friends because some arriving passenger was giving a few bucks to the men in barong.. It is very clear extortion and this goverment servant, soppose to be will greet the people like “mabuhay welcome home”. The symbol of Filipino gentleman is bieng stained by this people..Men in barong tagalog is begging a dollar to the arriving passenger, and it happenes every landing of a plane..Thy are shameless people..It is a huge imbarassment to the foriegn people……

NOTE: sorry about my english, wrong grammar. I dont speak much good english only japanese..I just want to share my thought hoping for changes in the system of governance in the airport….thanks…..
