There are times when we are timid and shy about expressing the love we feel. For fear of embarassing the other person, or ourselves, we hesitate to say the actual word; “I love you”. So we try to communicate the idea in other words. We say, “take care” or “don’t drive too fast” or “be good”. But really, theses are just other ways saying “I love you”, “You are important to me”, I care what happens to you” and “I don’t want you to get hurt”. We are sometimes very strange people. The only thing we want to say and the one thing that we should say, is the one thing we don’t say. And yet, because the feeling is so real and the need to say is so strong, we are driven to use other words and signs to say what we really mean. And many times the meaning never gets communicated at all and the other person is left feeling unloved and unwanted. Therefore we have to LISTEN FOR LOVE in the words that people are saying to us. Sometimes the explicit words are necessary, but more often, the manner of saying thing is even more important. A joyous insult carries more affection and love within the sentiments , which are expressed insincerely. An impulsive hug say I LOVE YOU even though the words might be saying differently. Any expression of a person’s concern for another says i love you. Sometimes the expression is clumsy, sometimes even cruel. Sometimes we must look and listen very intently for the love that contains. But it is often there, beneath the surface. A mother may nag her son constantly about his grades or cleaning his room. The son may hear only the nagging, but if he listens carefully, he will hear the love underneath the nagging. His mother wants him to do well, to be succesful. Her concern and love for her son unfortunately emerge in her nagging. But it is love all the same. A daughter comes home late; way past her curfew and her father confronts her with angry words. The daughter may hear only the anger, but if she listens carefully she will hear the love under the anger. “I was worried about you”, the father is saying. “Because I care about you and I love you. You’re important to me”. We say I love you in many ways– with birthday gifts and little notes, with smiles and sometimes with tears. Sometimes we show our love by just keeping quiet and not saying a word, at other times by speaking of even brusquely. We show our love sometimes by impulsiveness. Many times we have to show our love by forgiving someone who has not listened to the love we have tried to express. The problem in listening to love is that we don’t always understand the language of love, which the other person is using. A girl may use tears or emotions to say what she wants to say and her boyfriend may not understand her because he expects her to be talking his language. Thus, we have to force ourselves to really listen for love. The problem with our world is that people rarely listen to each other. They hear the words, but don’t listen to the actions that accompany the words or the expression on the face. Or people listen only for rejection or misunderstanding. They do not see the love that is there just beneath the surface, even if the words are angry. We have to listen for love in those around us. If we listen intently, we will discover that we are a lot more loved than we realize. Listen for love and we will find that the world is a very loving face after all. Love is a happy thing. It makes us laugh. It makes us sing. It makes us sad. It makes us cry. It makes us seek the reason why.It makes us take. It makes us give. Above all else it makes us LIVE. It is not the presence or absence of people that makes the difference because a person need not be lonely even if he is alone. Sometimes it is good to be alone. But does not make us lonely. It is not a matter of being present with someone. It is a matter of being present to someone. So remember, if you love someone, tell him or her. Remember always to say what you mean. Never be afraid to express yourself. Take this opportunity to tell someone what he or she means to you. Seize the day and have no regrets. Most importantly, stay close to your friends and family for they have helped make you the person that you are today and are what it’s all about anyway. The difference between expressing love and having regrets is that regrets may stay around.
Last Friday, my parents and I went to Baclaran to visit the church to pray for my late sister who’s going to be 47 on December 15th. When we arrived in the crowded place of Baclaran, we first got inside Max’s restaurant to have lunch. As we were having our meal, several police officers came inside the premises as well as with mediamen in tow. They gathered into different tables, and all other customers were staring at them bewildered, curious. Their superior then, General Barias, was talking to some customers before sitting down to his place or “kabisera”. After my parents and I ate, my dad approached the regional director. He congratulated him for the job well down on the “The Manila Peninsula- Trillanes” thing. Their talk led to personal matters like, the general asked my father where was his province. When my father answered, “Cebu”, he followed up with “Where in Cebu?”. And my dad replied,”Bogo, Cebu”. It happened that Gen. Barias was assigned there for very long and so he knew my father’s police nephew. And so the conversation went on and on. They were talking in the Cebuano language and as if they knew each other for a long time. My father was a retired lawyer and he was a government employee in SSS and so he like politics a lot. Same goes with my mother who was an employee in Commission on Audit a few years back. She also worked in Malacañang where she got to experience working with 3 presidents (the term then was only for 2 years). When they got married, the former President Garcia and his wife gave them a marital bed as a gift. And when the time of President Diosdado Macapagal came in the palace, she saw GMA when she’s still young and playing in the grounds. But for me, politics? Eww, all I can say is— I have more important things to think about.
Have you watch the movie “The Number 23?”. Well, it was a great movie to watch if your into suspense. It’s a different genre for Jim Carrey, who always do Comedy flicks. You’ll be suprise to his role there if you’re used to him doing crazy things in “The Mask”. Watch it and you’ll be suprise on the outcome of the story. Relax…. See a movie. (”,)
What’s at the top of your Christmas Wish List? 25 lucky readers who answer that question will be chosen to receive awesome prizes.
Over the past few weeks I have been receiving some questions about Entrecard from fellow pinoy bloggers. A lot of them are actually skeptical over the new blogging phenomenon that has been sweeping the blogosphere. Some were concerned on whether Entrecard is effective in getting lots of traffic while others wanted to know if the service is really free.
To save myself from answering the same questions over and over again, I have made a mini-FAQ introducing the basic concept of Entrecard along with the answers to the questions that Pinoy bloggers have.
Hope this helps!
What is Entrecard?
Entrecard is a free advertising exchange network where bloggers can advertise on any blog found in the network for free. It is one of those blogging phenomenon that is quickly sweeping the blogosphere nowadays.
My Dearest Blog,
It’s so nice to see you in a brand new look. Sorry, but I really abhor your previous outfit. It’s out of the latest trend.
So medyo nilangaw ang huli kong post. Actually, nilangaw pala talaga. Hindi siguro mabaho ang nailabas kong jebs kaya iilang langaw lang ang dumapo. Kawawa naman ako. Well, ok lang yun. Pero as promised ako na lang ang sasagot sa mga sarili kong katanungan. Alamin ang mga katotohanan.
Dear Nose,
So how are you doing? I sure hope that all is well and good, and that you and your family (that little thing we call the “respiratory system”) are doing great. I do my best to take care of you all by not smoking, trying hard to not breathe in pollution, and by not inhaling anthrax. So I must be sure you’re doing good. I wish I could say the same for me, but here’s a little problem: you’re making me fucking sneeze all morning long.
It’s the first day of my Christmas leave, you see? I woke up after an awesome full night’s sleep (one of two things I haven’t had in a long time. The other is secks) expecting to have a busy day ahead, with me torrenting lots of movies, porn, games, and basically being a bum. A busy bum. Awesome, right? Well, I thought it was going to be, until hay fever kicked in. Read the rest of this entry »
Series of unfortunate events with the devil HR hence, job seekers beware.
This is an addition to my “Devil HR” series that can be found here. For those of you who haven’t read the first release of the series, you can use the navigation menu to search for it.
This is actually a compilation of unfortunate events experienced by most job seekers that I’ve come to interview with. These notes could be a good tool for HR Heads on whether or not you’re your front lines are doing their job as desired by the company. So brace yourself for this maybe your company that they are referring to. And by the way, let me tell you also that I’ve included some of my bad experiences with your recruiters. And how was able to get access with your worst practices? I’m a job seeker in disguise.
Wasting my time. I wonder if most of our HR heads here has already trained their recruiters to value a job seekers time, or is it just the attitude of a recruiter. But I wonder why they were hired for a fact that they possess such an unbearable attitude.
He was advised to be there at 1:00 pm but the preliminary exam starts and 2:30pm. If it was me, you won’t be seeing me. Then follows the interview but you were asked to wait (no specific time) for the recruiter. After almost an hour she came, but she went out because her colleague called her and they were talking for a couple of minutes.
As the interview commences right after horrible hours of waiting, the recruiter then brags that it’s not that often the company hires a new employee (as if it’s big deal to me or was she thinking that I’ll be impressed?). After her boastful claims and rhetoric’s on how good was their process and her personality I’m at a lost. Now my turn to throw her the most basic questions, satisfied with a 2 – 3 months process of filling up a vacancy? Okay with being late without even apologizing to everyone around? You owe them an explanation because they waited for you. So war of lexis follows. To make the story short, this applicant was really pissed off.
She’s a waste of my time. Time has been so valuable for job seekers or to professionals. As much as possible let’s not abuse it. Sometimes our recruiters tend to be confident that these job seekers will wait for them because they need a job to the extent that they fail to recognize some of the ethical ways on how to deal with these job seekers. Worst, they may know that it’s the company who needs these jobseekers, but they don’t take it by heart and mind that it’s actually us who needs them the most rather than the other way around. They are our greatest assets.
More devil experiences here!
“job searching will never be the same again”
Bad debts are bad debts because they are way past due and are difficult to collect. Understandably, the natural reaction of companies is to focus their collection efforts in collecting these kind of debts.
This is fine except that, usually, they end up spending resources not commensurate to the benefits, and will most likely be distracted in their efforts to collect their “good” accounts. Outsourcing becomes an option. It is a strategy that most multinational companies in the Philippines have long adopted. Read more at Pinoy Seminars.

The WidgetBucks Blog has officially announced that they do not credit clicks that are coming from the Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Vietnam, China, Egypt, and Romania. This means that you will not be paid if the clicks come from the countries that are mentioned above.
What are the non-paying countries or regions?
We are finding that advertisers are not willing to buy traffic from Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Vietnam, China, Egypt, and Romania.
It’s really important to mention this is an advertiser decision regarding the value of that traffic, NOT WidgetBucks’ decision. We repeat: this is an advertiser decision regarding the value of that traffic, NOT WidgetBucks’ decision. I emphasize this because publishers, for whatever reason, will undoubtedly and incorrectly draw the conclusion it is solely WidgetBucks’ decision.

So here’s what I’ve learned so far about this new crew of people I work with these days. Most of them have been with the company for quite some time now (10+ years!) — and they still love working here. And despite the highly physical kind of work we do everyday, they are active on their off days as well. For instance, one teaches Kundalini yoga, another one rides horses, one gal just completed her first triathlon, and this other guy runs miles before and after his shifts (he’s an actor so he says he has to stay in impossibly terrific shape). And me? I sleep until past noon when I’m off because my body’s achy and sore after two or three consecutive work days.

Having been exposed to the corporate world for a while, I have taken note of interesting match between jobs and people. Economic background, IMO, affects paradigm and job.
People who graduated from an A-list university and grew from a well off family tends to be good on property management (i.e. hotel, resort, shopping mall management) sales and marketing, and customer service management. The absence of financial need developed confidence in negotiations and limitless exposures on events. Likewise, living in an upscale environment have set the standard of elegance and understanding of superb service.
On the other hand, people who worked to support his studies, at the same time, and those who came from not so well off family tend to be good workers and good in people management. Understanding what it meant to be in need, these people can be happy with what they have (rather than having nothing), and tends to be more loyal to their jobs and company compare to their rich counterparts. These people, likewise, when given the opportunity to lead, can be good in managing people as they can easily sympathize and empathize with ordinary folks. They are also in the best position to inspire ordinary folks to gun for bigger things.

After the last Wowowee Scam a few months ago here’s another video to prove the cheating scam of the said game show “Wilyonaryo.” This video says it all and I hope that this is the last of scams Wowowee could ever produce. Watch and be amaze on how they practice the game show in private with music and fake expressions.

Somebody told me that one should write in the form that one loves to read. That makes sense, doesn’t it? Why grill steaks if you’re a vegetarian? (This also means I’ll never take my master’s degree as theses and dissertations are not exactly my kind of bedtime reading). Following that principle, people would probably deduce that my favorite literary forms to read would be the autobiography and personal essay as it is the form (not that literary though) that I most often write in, right? Wrong. I write personal essays and short autobiographies not because I like reading personal essays and short autobiographies but simply because I like talking about myself and myself is my favorite topic.
