If fastfood joints and shopping malls are full of win, tiangge’s are too. All you have to do is open your eyes to the fun and exciting world of LOLness.
A few days ago, my wife and I went to St. Francis Square in Ortigas in search for bargain clothing. Yeah, we’re cheap like that. While she tried a few pieces of clothing, I went around in search for some ass cheap, cool looking shirts. I managed to find a great one – black, with the words, “You can take away everything from me, but you can’t stop me from being EMO,” printed on the front. Cool eh? Anyway, more awesome than the shirt were the signs in the tiangge.
For those who’re living under boulders of dung, St. Francis Square is located at the back of the SM MegaMall in Ortigas. It’s right along Doña Julia Vargas St. If you’re claustrophobic, don’t even think about shopping there. It’s like a miniaturized version of the GreenHills Shopping Mall minus the annoying dibidi guys.
Right. So the second floor isn’t much, but there were more stores at the far end of the floor. There’s 2A, and as the sign says, we should be going there for more RTW. I took the liberty of capturing the first idiotic sign that I saw with my high-tech-outdated-pseudo-CSI-esque cellphone. Click here to read more of this compelling tale!
More criticisms that is! It’s one of the most horrible service companies here in the Philippines. Read about here.
Sixteen days after my last update, at last, I have a new entry! Sorry for the unannounced hiatus. My blog went to hibernation because of school work. Only three weeks have passed since the second semester had started and I’m already tired. It seems that my professors’ favorite pastime is to give their students loads of assignments, researches, projects, reports and tests. So many deadlines, procrastination is my best friend. My only consolation is that I have a better schedule now, by dusk, I’m already home (except for Tuesdays) and I’ve got loads of break time (two and a half hours of break every Tuesdays and Thursdays and another extra hour every Tuesdays).
I finally have my own domain. I got it through Blogger’s custom domains. Do visit my blog at:
I also have another site which I call my playgrounds:

Yesterday, I had the wonderful opportunity to meet and speak with Education Secretary Jesli A. Lapus. Gigi and Pam of the Philippine Embassy in Vietnam invited me and Michelle to the despedida party of Consul-Gen Baisa and Ms Bel. Sec Lapus was the guest of honor and luckily, Ambassador del Rosario asked me to join them at their table.
We talked about life, family, careers, and of course, CyberEducation! Here are some of the insights I gained from Sec Lapus and from my own research about CyberEd:
What is Cyber Education?
I’m sure you’ve heard of Open and Distance Education (aka Distance Learning). This is a hot topic in our generation because of the availability of fast-paced Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), which includes e-mail, the Internet, multimedia resources, etc.
Distance Learning (DL) is not new.[1] It was invented in 1840 by the Englishman Sir Isaac Pitman when he started giving lessons to his students by mail. What a revolutionary idea! Click here and continue reading…
I’m sure that you’ve heard about Amazon’s latest reading breakthrough – the KINDLE, that is. It’s a device that enables you to buy, store, download and read (not necessarily in order, btw) reading materials of your liking. It uses an electronic paper display via a 6″ screen. It’s revolutionary, it’s handy, it’s convenient.
For some people.
Maybe for many people, as I heard it was sold out in almost five hours after it was launched.
So when you have your own Kindle, you can read e-books, you can read blogs, you can browse Wikipedia to your heart’s content, you can even read the first chapters of books before you finally decide to buy it or not, among its many features.
Personally, I think Kindle isn’t for me. See, I still value holding a real book in my hands. The smell of book pages is incomparable to the smell of a 290-gram white gadget. My own personal effort to protect the spine of a book as I read it adds to the pleasure of reading.

Remember when you were single and dating? Friday and Saturday nights were sacred back then. It meant your boss cannot make you put in overtime no matter how much she begged, or it meant you had to display extremely good behavior so your mom will allow you to stay out later than usual.
Now that you are married with kids to boot, are those nights still sacred?
Woe to those who say no. Getting married and not having kids do not mean you have to forget about being young and in love.
My husband and I agreed that we will always have our date night. It doesn’t have to be a Friday or a Saturday actually. It doesn’t have to mean going out and spending money on a movie or meal. It could simply be spending some quality time together, even at home curled up together on the sofa watching TV Patrol World.

The metro is abound with Chinese food-serving establishments. You cannot turn a corner without encountering a restaurant or a canteen that serves chinese cuisine in one form or another. Because it has always been a constant part of our lives, I choose to stay away from it whenever I go and have dinner out. It also helps because my husband doesn’t like to eat Chinese.
The rare times that we do have the urge to eat Chinese, we always look for a place that serve dishes that would excite our palates and not dampen it. This is the reason we choose places like Big Buddha, Super Bowl of China, Zong at the Fort or North Park. These places also encourage more of the younger generation to appreciate Chinese dishes. Because of the popularity of yang chow fried rice, lemon chicken, deep fried cuttlefish in spicy salt, manchurian calamares, and string beans with minced pork, these places have flourished over the years.
That is why it is really disappointing for me to have such an unpleasant experience at Superbowl of China at the SM Megamall megastrip branch. The place itself looked unkempt and felt dirty. The air was filled with the smell of smoke coming from the kitchen which made me think that the place had inadequate ventilation. The set plates, flatware, and glasses appeared grimy. I kept wiping everything with tissue until I felt comfortable enough to use them.
Do not LOVE me, my friend
Like your shadow-
Shadows fade in the evening.
And i will hold you- Until the cock crows.
Do not love me like pepper-
It makes my belly hot I cannot eat pepper
When i am hungry.
Do not love me like a pillow-
One would meet in sleep
And not see each other
During the day.
Love me like a dream-
For dreams are your life
In the night
A nd my hope in the day.
We just came from Philsports Arena (formerly ULTRA) where we attended the very first Kerygma Conference conducted by the Light of Jesus Family of Bo Sanchez. In the few hours that we were there, we were inspired by the sharings of Fr. Orbos who celebrated the opening mass, the performance of very powerful performers like Nolyn Cabahug and Dulce, and the Bo’s talk on his 7 beliefs. Read more at Pinoy Seminars.

I am not against the granting of a pardon to persons who deserve it. However, people who have refused to accept their guilt and have shown no contrition for the crime they committed do not deserve pardon.
Nope, Senator Noynoy Aquino was not referring to former President Joseph “Erap” Estrada, but to Pablo Martinez, one of those convicted for the assassination of Ninoy Aquino, the senator’s father. More…
I can’t believe that it’s almost December already. Soon enough, I’ll be braving the crowds (and possibly a knife between my ribs) to get gifts for my (alarmingly decreasing number of) friends and family (who apparently read my blog and are one step away from disowning me). The gifts, as always, will consist of these items:
But even though I work very hard to give people the things that they want for Christmans, I rarely get things that I like for Christmas, since Santa Claus is an asshole and never gave me a single thing ever. So yeah, my Christmases past are EPIC FAIL:

To make sure that nobody makes the mistake of giving me a used life-sized David Hasselhoff doll again, I shall proceed in enumerating the things I want for Christmas. Take note, people. Read more
