I have embarked on a great Adventure this month of November. I am Terrified to death because I don’t have a single bone of fiction in my body. But I am also Optimistic that I could write 50,000 words (even if it’s 50,000 words of pure rubbish) of the first draft of my first Novel ever. Someone recently called me a martyr.
Officially, a martyr is someone who makes great sacrifices or suffers much in order to further a belief, cause, or principle. If you really think about it that sounds kind of positive.
But how come here in our country, being tagged as a martyr is not a very good thing? Oftentimes we identify martyr-s to be wives who stayed with their husbands despite being beaten, or children who stay home to take care of sick parents, or boyfriends who wait 3 hours for their always tardy girlfriends. I am not exactly sure how this thinking evolved but I feel it is only here that people think this way.
To really smile, remember a happy experience in your life. It doesn’t need to be related to the person you are smiling at, just a time that makes you smile. A time that really made you feel good. As you remember it, your face will want to smile. Let it. That is exactly what you want to have happen. A smile is more than a grin, a smile brings light to your whole countenance.
Have you every tried smiling at complete strangers? I have. Almost without fail they smile back at you. People like to be smiled at, I can’t explain it, but its true. I have smiled at people walking down the street and most will smile back. That in turn makes me feel good because someone is smiling at me. Weird but true.

Just recently, multi-billionaire New Yorker Leona Helmsley willed $12M to her dog. We may not have the billions to leave behind but we may have a thought or two as to where or to whom certain of our possessions will go and show our appreciation as Ms. Helmsley did.
A will is where one can be “permitted, with the formalities prescribed by law, to control to a certain degree the disposition of his estate, to take effect after his death (ARTICLE 783, New Civil Code).” It is with these formalities that it is almost impossible to dispense with the services of a lawyer. …..
