Now that only eleven days are left before school begins, I still haven’t prepared anything. I still don’t have the school supplies that I would need like notebooks (Corona and binders), ballpen (0.5 or thinner than that), paper (yellow pad and Corona bond paper), and other things that are essential for students. Well, I’m not really inclined to get back to school because school is hell, moreover, college is fatal. Lol.

If the Father is God and Jesus is God and the Holy Spirit is God, how come there is only one God? Let’s leave the explaining to the theologians. Our concern should be the quality of our relationship God who is Father, Son and Spirit. (Read)
A group of nude men who call themeselves the Alyansa ng Nagkakaisang Lakas ng Kabataan marched in the streets of Manila to protest the fee hikes and exposing the “naked truth” about the “pathetic state of Philippine education.”
It seems that some advocacy groups have all but exhausted their creative side. The symbolisms used in protest actions have been tried again and again, to the point of being worn out already. Now that’s another naked truth that these youth should consider.
Yet, despite this, the quest for truly meaningful and accessible education remains relevant today. [Read the rest of the entry here.]
It took a long time but I finally admit that Palm is dying a slow excruciating death. So now, I’m back to using a Nokia but not “just” a Nokia, its a Nokia E61I.

It’s about time!
Yesterday the Supreme Court thumbed down the rebellion charges against the six progressive solons. In a strongly yet lucidly-worded 21-page decision, the SC finally affirmed what Atty. Romeo Capulong, Ka Bel, and the Batasan 5 have been saying all along, over and over again, for the past fifteen months: that the charges of rebellion by the Arroyo administration and the Department of Justice are flawed, baseless, malicious, utterly bereft of scrupulousness and impartiality. The waiting is finally over as the winners of Cebu Pacific’s Smile Photo Contests are out! The response was overwhelming – as was the quality of the entries.
The competition was launched to celebrate 11 years of Cebu Pacific Air – and as our destinations have grown, so have the sources of inspiration for our entrants, an incredible 2,300 photographs were submitted.

I’ve been through so much depression this week that I’m starting to become like those emo kids I’ve made fun of in Down the Highway. Also, I’ve come to the conclusion that I’m a few notches away from becoming a mysoginist like resident TMB Woman-Hater Squid. Given a little more time, I just might start punching pregnant women in the stomach just like he does. I’d be a total woman-hater already if women aren’t good for secks and making sammiches. But I digress.

Anyway, I’m blaming much of my emoness to Steel, who has been acting like a douchebag lately. He also looks like a hobo. I plan on taking out my frustrations by punching the shit out of pregnant women who look like him.
Emo Rant #1: Ninjas
Ninjas are the pits. They like to hang around in trees, biding their time as I pass by, then they jump on me with their shurikens and they to poison my coffee at the most inopportune times. Of course I am forced to kill them ninjas every chance I get. Also, they wear black. They’re like emo. And that makes me sad. =(
Saw this meme over at Kyameel’s blog and I must say, whoever started this is a genius! We need more memes like this!
How to improve air travel in the country? First, please offer free wi-fi in airport terminals. Offer shuttle service for departing and arriving passengers. Make security measures more humane, less exaggerated.

Company of Heroes patch 1.7 has gone live, making Company of Heroes the 1st DX10 game in the World! Too bad I’m still using a Geforce 7900 card and won’t benefit that much with this update and not to mention that I stop playing the game for quite some time now.
Anyway, a good patch for a great game. In order to ensure this patch works correctly, I suggest that your video card is updated to the latest drivers.

The year was 1956. It was the time of rock and roll, malt shops, hula-hoops, and the American bandstand. It was the beginning of the Cold War. It was the time of Elvis Presley, Marilyn Monroe, and James Dean. It was the time of sideburns, loafers, and poodle skirts. Such was the time when Romeo and Rosario were in their vibrant youths, studying in Madrid as was the fashion of the Filipino middle class at that time, and traveling around Europe with their amigas and amigos. One fine day in 1956, Romeo, 23 years old, a fresh law graduate from the University of the Philippines, and currently taking his Doctor of Laws at the Universidad Central de Madrid on a scholarship, was walking along the Gran Via with his Filipino classmate, Mariano. They did not have any shopping money, but they still enjoyed this lively, ornate and upscale shopping street in Madrid with its large hotels and movie theaters, and the grand architecture prevalent among many of its buildings.
As they were ambling along Madrid’s main avenue, two women were walking towards them. Romeo looked at one of them and thought to himself, “What a beautiful Chinese girl with long hair. Someday she will be my wife.”

Gusto kong magkaroon nito kahit wala pa akong Treo.

Be sizzled so read!
Since it’s already June 1, it means that 2008 is now less than 6 months away. Which, of course, technically means that planning for 2008 travel is not that silly anymore.
According to the sorry state of my finances, I am pretty much grounded for the rest of 2007. Definitely no overseas trips for me this year. I can probably do a couple of local day trips or maybe one 3-day weekend trip if I’m lucky.
To console myself, I have now started listing the places I want to go to in 2008.
Atlantis Productions’ staging of the hit Broadway musical “Avenue Q” will star three of the country’s finest performers. Pop singer Rachel Alejandro, who will play the dual role of Kate Monster and Lucy The Slut, will be joined by singer/actress Aiza Seguera (as Gary Coleman) and “Star in a Million” champion Frenchie Dy (as Christmas Eve).
“Avenue Q” opens September 7 at the Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium, RCBC Plaza, Makati City.

There are no words that can describe how happy I am about Viva Video bringing in Marvel Entertainment’s straight-to-DVD animated features like Ultimate Avengers, Ultimate Avengers 2, and this movie here featuring Ol’ Shellhead: The Invincible Iron Man.
The Story: This got some comic book traditionalists up in arms with their panties in a bunch. Uptight pricks. I, on the other hand, don’t mind the film creators doing some modifications and upgrades on the mythos because first, I wasn’t an Iron Man fan until Civil War came along, so I really don’t give a crap about Iron Man continuity. Second, why would you want an animated feature to be 100% faithful to the medium it’s based on? Stories and characters in comics, no matter how iconic, don’t always equal great entertainment when ported brick-by-brick to another medium. And third, the story of ancient magics meeting bleeding edge technologies, with a dash of daddy issues, works for me. The Ultimate Avengers movies gave me a bigger geekgasm, but this one gave me a more satisfying story.
