Carry Your Bed

One day He said: Do you want to get well? The man answered: There’s none helping me… and im stuck to this situation for 38 years!

Then He said : Stand up, carry your bed and walk!

We tend to blame situations, people, environment and some other things why we are so miserable or just can’t move on. “if it were not because of you!” we said, but i think it should be “if it were not because of me!” If you are looking for a culprit… try to look in a mirror. Sometimes we stay in a situation, try to work it out but only to find out it is killing us. I found out that:

If we can’t move things forward, it’s time to move on. Dont stick with it.

It is time to carry our bed, not the other way around. We should be in control of our situations, problems, fear, or whatever it is. For so long a time we have been “carried by this bed” instead “us carrying the bed”. Because of that, we never became what we are intended to become.

“Thirty-eight years”, the invalid man in Bethesda said. “No one is helping me get out this situation”. The Man from Nazareth said “You don’t have to blame anybody.. forget it! It’s done! Take it behind your back! I’m here telling you now, ARISE TAKE UP YOUR BED AND WALK”

And the man rose up, and he carried his bed and went to the temple to worship.

Man, you can never be a better person God wanted you to be if you don’t rise up, carry your bed and walk.

It happened to me, it might be happening to you. Let me re-tell what He told me… Arise, take up your bed and walk.

Juwono Sudarsono is the Minister of Defense of Indonesia and he blogs. I found his site, which is updated monthly, a few weeks ago. As the first civilian to become Minister of Defense, he seems to be very cultured and progressive.

The Indonesian official’s latest entry, “Clash of Civilizations,” tells me that he is not “utak pulbura” unlike some Filipino generals and civilian defense officials. Or at least he tries to look like it. And that can make a big difference for a country that is just as tumultuous as ours.

While present-day Indonesia is not free from human rights violations, these cannot compare to the scope and systematic viciousness that accompanies the Arroyo administration’s campaign against legal parties and organizations in the guise of wiping out the armed struggle waged by the Communist Party of the Philippines since the late 60s.

SIESYATNEBONSOTNEICOSTOLIM (AWA)

Nice! Straight from Australia pa, hehe! ;)

Bumili ako last month ng box set ng HP Books 1-6 for 5k.

Wendy: Saviour of PBB 2

We saw it in the news. PBB ratings are not quite as high as its previous ratings. Why you ask. Well if you watch a single episode of PBB 2, you would notice that it is not as interesting as PBB 1. First of, the current personalities inside the house are not a good mix. The PBB 1 housemates were much more funny, colorful, and real. The current housemates are so dull, boring, and safe. I guess you can say that the second batch of housemates are really playing the game. The problem I think is that the current batch of housemates have seen PBB 1 and all the other editions. Therefore, they are more prone to act cautiously.

I had 2 different people in my head watching Transformers last night. A 12 year old (loved the explosions, hated the long exposition) and a 33 year old (thought the Autobots’ characterization was paper-thin, loved the seamlessness of the animation). Post-movie, I heard them debating what we’d just seen. (Read more)

“How the treasury of the 1898 republic vanished.” – continued

As the U.S. forces of Gen Arthur McArthur were closing in on Tarlac, President Emilio Aguinaldo commissioned a party of four Tagalog officers and twenty soldiers to hide the money and important documents of the government.

American troops soon discovered the treasure after one of the Tagalog soldiers surrendered and pointed to the hiding place. Swarm of American troopers and cavalrymen got their hands full. Two hundred thousand dollars were turned over to the officers of the Third Cavalry of the U.S. army, but many American soldiers succeeded in keeping the rest for themselves.

The Philippines is the first country in the world to observe a special day for domestic workers after President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo issued Proclamation 1051 last year which set aside April 30th as a special day to honor and give recognition to millions of kasambahay. But this is not enough. The welfare and working conditions of domestic workers must be improved by enacting a law which will address these concerns

Here’s a perfect example of what I’d like to use my Podbean account for–something you’d find only in this corner: a rare and high-quality audio clip of Lani Misalucha singing a radiant version of Stephen Sondheim’s “Children Will Listen.” Talk to me!

Creativity in Context and an Experiment

Here’s something I wrote last week for an exhibit at the Intellectual Property (IP) Phils, a government office whose purpose for existence, correct me if I’m wrong, revolves around the processing of patents, copyrights, and trademarks. They set up a spacious gallery at the first floor of the IP building, called the Alab Art Space. Since its located at the lobby of the building, fronting the sidewalk, the gallery and some of its contents are visible to all incidental passers-by: government employees, bureaucrats, office clerks hurrying to work, pedestrians, commuters trapped in traffic.
