Subject: Holy Week
Dear all,
I hope you all had a blessed and holy Easter. Daddy and I left for Matabungkay very early Holy Wednesday morning. Surprisingly it was cool and windy, and very comfortable. We swam in the afternoon. There was not much crowd yet, and there were plenty of vacant balsas.

There were lots of terrible headlines as I continued to watch 24 Oras. There was one who got struck by lightning and another that reported several runners who lost consciousness while on a marathon due to the extreme heat. Imagine the temperature of 37C-38C burning your defenseless skin!
Due to the intense heat, it made us to request for a delivery of a set of Halu-Halo and Gulaman from a popular fastfood. Instead of feeling cool like the fridge, we were hot-irritated about its service like hell! Wanna see an instance of it?

our HR manager last week decided to take us other managers out for lunch today… we decided to eat at Gerry’s Grill in Libis… and so, at about 11:30 today, all 4 of us bundled ourselves in a car and headed out for Libis… little did we know that this will be the biggest error we will do today…
DVD piracy being what it is, with no quality control whatsoever, it’s best to expect that some things would go awry or askew every now and then. The movie may skip, some extras would be gone, the cover has mismatched credits–Truffauts’s “Stolen Kisses,” for instance, listing James Cameron as director and Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jamie Lee Curtis and Tom Arnold as actors. “True Lies” meets the French New Wave!
With the recent introduction of the “8-in-one” (8 movies in one disc) format, things have gotten only curiouser and curiouser. I have a theory that whoever is writing the general titles of these 8-in-one discs is either 1) a junkie, 2) an alien sending out coded messages to his intergalactic co-travellers, or 3) a closet surrealist. The funny, outlandish titles are matched only by the funny, outlandish cinematic mash-ups they offer–”Breakfast at Tiffany’s,” say, side by side with “The Flintstones.” DVDS on crack, I tell you.

“This fourth alternative masqueraded the colonization plan as a humanitarian mission – America was rich and therefore needed no colonies; the Filipinos were savages and America was coming to educate, uplift and civilize them. However, succession of events confirmed that the acquisition of the Philippines was not an afterthought, but consisted of well-studied actions of the McKinley administration that started earlier than it was possible for America to get involved in Philippine affairs. Enumerated below are incidence of such well-studied actions dating as far back as the last quarter of 1897: ”

I think this is the first time I will be reviewing a hardware component. I am just happy that I could again share my Internet connection between my desktop and notebook. I have borrowed a router from my uncle before, but he already took it back for use on their home. I’ve only used [that] one router other than this WRT54GC that I currently am using.
After having installed this newly acquired router, I’ve tested and reviewed the performance and limitations of the Linksys WRT54GC with comparison to its older brother, the Linksys WRT54G—the one I have used before.

Prologue
I am pursuing this path back to my childhood because I want to rediscover myself as a kid. Childhood, though can be frustrating, dragging and even painful, is such a fascinating experience which I’d want to relive. It’s sad that most people tend to forget theirs easily. They neglect it as if it wasn’t anything significant to their grown-up lives but a silly period we all need to go through
… All I have now are tidbits of memories- short, scattered, distant. My mission is to write each one of them as they come to me. These accounts will have their own life under the “childhood memories” label in my blog. I had intended to write in first person but I realized a third person approach is more effective as it gives the right sense of separation between the little Joseph and my present self. Documenting the life and explorations of a budding kid who’s actually me is such a thrilling endeavor. It’s like meeting myself for the first time, almost an out-of-the-body encounter…

Miss Universe 1993- “Little Sisters”

Milka Chulina- Miss Venezuela 1993
I reviewed my copy of Miss Universe 1993 to refresh myself on the pageant’s production quality when it was last held in Mexico. This is, of course, in line with the upcoming Miss Universe edition (May 28) which will again take place in Mexico after fourteen years. It’s a pity that I missed the telecast back in 1993. That could have been my very first Miss Universe experience, I think. I’m not really sure because I have a hazy hazy memory of the 1991 edition which Mexico (Lupita Jones) actually won. The incessant hair-tossing of Miss Netherlands is just so remarkable to me that I think I had captured that in mind as a kid…

Dinadala na ba ng Love Radio ang network war sa radyo at gagamitin din nila ang “tried and tested” formula para maging number one sa ere?

The spay and neuter solution is one of the most misunderstood concepts in cat and dog care. Just last Saturday, a couple of PARC visitors inquiring about adopting a kitten was surprised when we broached the idea of neutering the dog they currently have. They seemed to think that it’s a matter of regret for a dog to lose its ability to reproduce. There are a lot of reasons why this is a wrong perception.
Cagsawa Ruins, the famous landmark of Bicol region are still intact and are spared from the ravaging flash floods brought by typhoon Reming last year. It resulted to more than a thousand deaths from various municipalities surrounding the Mt. Mayon in Albay province.
It is contrary to the reports made by foreign and local media who covered the fiasco and said that it was washed away and half buried by pyroclastic materials from Mt. Mayon. Local residents said that mediamen were not able to reach the Cagsawa ruins because roads leading to it were impassable and full of boulders and sand that reaches up to 20 ft. high.

Rain and Tears
We wish for rain to pour and put a stop the unbearable heat this summer. I, on the other hand, have been getting a torrential rain of bad luck in the office. It’s just one disappointment after another and it’s getting more painful in the ass. They say when it rains, it pours. It is indeed pouring like a hurricane alright. I’ve been lacking sleep, missing periods and showing stress pimples on my face. I’m about to breakdown.
