Dude. How lame am I when it comes to the dating game?

I mean this guy, Bao Xishun, who is a herdsman in Inner Mongolia, hooks up with ladies all around the world. And he’s not even trying to get their numbers in bars – the ladies actually give it to him. Then the applicants go through a “long selection process” and whoever the heck wins becomes his wife.

Blogtest, blogtest… Laptop? Check. DSL? Check. Brains? Uh-oh! I think my brains got left behind and stuck in traffic somewhere between Kamuning Road and Kamias. But I did bring something back to Cambodia with me which replaced my cerebrum after inhaling a big chunk of carbon monoxide from historic EDSA – the sniffles and the sneezles. Honey and I? For now, while we’re spending a small fortune on Kleenex tissues, you can call us Sipunin and Uhugin, or perhaps Antukin after drinking all that cold medicine.

Of Time and Hostage Drama

Wednesday
Mar 28,2007

Have you seen the news about the hostage drama here in the Philippines? What a shocker! Thirty-one children and four teachers were held as hostages for almost twelve hours! And would you believe that the alleged leader of this hostage drama, Jun Sucat, is the owner of the daycare center where these 31 children have been enrolled for a year? It’s very ironic isn’t it? What’s more, his motive for doing this hostage crisis was only that he wanted his students to have support for their education of at and housing for them and their families. To make it more ironic, he said, “I love these kids.”

A month or so ago, I came across a posting at http://www.gov.ph/forum/ which announced free seminars on dishwashing liquid and others and I, on pure curiousity, found a way to attend. The seminars turned out to be a quick sessions on how to mix pre-formulated substances to produce them dishwashing liquid, fabric conditioner, handwash, carwash, even perfumes, at just 25% percent, even less, of the selling price of commonly known brands like Joy, Downy, etc.  More info at Pinoy Seminars!

Got an email message from Text Link Ads (TLA) two days ago. I logged in to my TLA account and saw that a month after I placed TLA ads on the site (around mid-February 2007), I’ve already earned $70. Nice complement to my Google Adsense earnings.

For publishers out there who are having a hard time earning from Google Adsense or other site monetization programs, selling TLA ad links may be for you.

Cafe by the Ruins

Wednesday
Mar 28,2007

Cafe by the Ruins is one of the more popular spots in Baguio City for winding down after the day’s tour of the city. Here you can relax and sip salabat (ginger tea) or coffee. The place has a soothing ambience, which is a surprise considering that it’s still close to the business district. It’s actually located very near the City Hall.

Tried to think of a wittier title, but just went direct to the point instead. Last week, the crew at Hackenslash – Joey Alarilla, Alex Villafania, and Jayvee Fernandez interviewed me at the latest episode of the Hackenslash.net podcast. Enjoy! (I hate listening to myself or watching myself on TV, though.)

Finally, gabusch dot net is here!

I’ve wanted this domain for years – but had no idea what to do with it.

Finally, I got my blogging mojo back. I was starting to use Vox, but playing around with WordPress plugins finally gave me enough joy to get my lazy ass moving and set up my own blog.

So, this is my new blog, gabusch dot net. I’ve also put up all of the posts from my old blog, the now defunct 3rd World Game Designer. It had a good run, but lost steam when I got tired of blogging awhile back.

More about what I plan to talk about here. Enjoy the blog!
