Unaffectionally dubbed as “Mr. Noted,” re-electionist senator Kiko Pangilinan presents nothing noteworthy with his campaign website. Perhaps his website is a reflection of his tumultuous campaign so far? On to the review: Standard Web Standards (http://webstandards.raquedan.com/?p=160)
Responsible.
I’ve always been described as such by teachers, friends, bosses, etc. It felt good to be thought of that way. I have avoided a lot of unnecessary trouble in life because of that trait. However, it can be such a burden too…

I’m a certified spa-holic.
Every Friday from hereon, expect a spa review or a wellness treatment or product to appear on this page. This is a “pledge” I’ve made to myself to keep my sanity – to better take care of myself and indulge in the things I love at least once a week.
If there is one luxury I like to indulge in, it is both the thrill and the comfort that an hour (or more) at the spa can bring. I don’t want to think of it as an indulgence but rather an essential to helping maintain my well-being. For some women shopping for clothes or jewelry does the trick, for others it’s cooking, I’d rather spend time resting my mind and body while someone kneads my woes away.

Filipinos for Responsible Viewing
Boycott NBN. Ban Baluyot!
Bakit pa on air si Veronica Baluyot?
Parang whore make-up ang labas.
Past her prime na.

Yesterday, I rode a bus going to Ayala from Dasmariñas village in Magallanes. NO, it wasn’t even the air conditioned type but the air continuous type of bus that you usually see with former Robin Padilla and Bong Revilla movie stunt drivers at the helm and their stunt doubles as ticketing guy. The experience was such a novelty that I have to seriously propose (to the MMDA) writing a guide or manual for first time public bus passengers and tourist who are Fear Factor contestant wannabees.

“Grown-ups never understand anything by themselves, and it is tiresome for children to be always explaining things to them.”
The Little Prince, Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
One thing that I’ve learned from reading the Little Prince is that grown-ups have forgot how is it to be a child. Ironically, you’ll hear some grown-ups saying “How I wish I’m still a kid… bla bla.” But who doesn’t like that? Well, except for those people out there that were bullied and were teased by their classmates who are pa-sosyal ((Translation: social climbers)), I’m absolutely sure that they don’t want to go back or even just remember their childhood days.
We, Janine Gale Fernandez and Maharaini Gania, BA Behavioral Students from the University of the Philippines Manila, are doing a study on online sex as part of our Anthropology 157: Sex and Culture class. In line with this we would like to ask for your cooperation in answering this online survey. It would only take a few minutes of your time and, rest assured, your answers would be kept confidential.
Note: You don’t have to be an online sex participant to take the survey. So please, pakisagot na lang
I’d appreciate it if you could pass this on to others. Salamat

Citizen Journalists in France suffered a big blow when their Constitutional Council recently banned them from filming and/or broadcasting acts of violence. So say instead of the perpetrators of a mob attack, non-journalists caught filming the act will bet jail time.

Financial freedom is getting out of the rat race. It is said the poor spend every penny they make, have no assets, instead have liabilities. The middle class on the other hand, while earning more than others, also accumulate more debt as they become more successful. A pay raise qualifies them to borrow more money which they usually use to buy personal items. As income increases, so does personal debt. This is what they call the rat race. Pinoy Top Blogs (PTB) almost came to an end last February… I suppose I could go into the declines in total unique hits (UH) and this month’s hits (TMH), but it wouldn’t really be worth the effort because PTB was down so much in February.
What IS interesting was Rickey’s decision to remove his blog from PTB, which opened up the top spot for other bloggers. More…
“The Correspondents” topic at ABS-CBN NoW is about Cover Girls. So after watching it I started reading the 2006 issues of FHM which were sent by my brother via e-mail and on PDF format. Since I arrived here in Vancouver I cant find a Filipino Store which sells FHM, instead some Filipino Stores here sell Showbiz Magazines. I am a reader and collector of FHM since it began circulating in 2000, way back then the Editor-in-Chief was Eric Ramos who left FHM in 2004 and publish his own mens magazine named Pump but it was canceled. I was surprised when I saw Eric on The Correspondents that he is now the Editor-in-Chief of Maxims which is the counterpart of FHM. It also shows the touch of Eric Ramos on the new issues of Maxims. I have not seen and read a Maxims issue, I’m expecting that El Gimikero is back now on his new home Maxims.
I hope that some Filipino stores here in Vancouver sells FHM or Maxims Philippines because it will cost me around $30-$40 If i buy online. Thanks to my brother who brought back my passion of reading FHM and reminding me that Filipinas are Very Beautiful inside out.

In celebration of International Women’s Day, let me enlighten you on a few facts regarding ‘gender equality’ in developing nations. Read the rest here.

For some reason, I wasn’t that interested with the Oscar nominees last year (can you say sleepers?), this year’s however, were different. I’ve got a good number in queue for my DVD player. Last I’ve seen was Al Gore’s global warning, An Inconvenient Truth. Call it luck that though I missed it in theaters, I was eventually provided a copy by our Muslim brothers in Manila. *wink*
This slideshow, er, movie is of course about the same old global warming issue. Only this time, the issue is no longer the same as the earth is about to melt faster than a scoop of ice cream. Gore’s presentation runs for just about an hour–which is a necessary hour to give to secure the days on this planet.
I remember watching the making of The Day After Tomorrow a few years ago; irregular weather patterns and natural calamities were happening more and more often that the filmmaker said to the staff: “We need to hurry up finishing this movie or it’s going to be a documentary!”
This film is currently being aired on US TV’s, according to imdb.com. You may check the website at www.climatecrisis.net.
Make time to see it, however inconvenient.
Everywhere I look, all I see/hear about are friends, batch mates and /or acquaintances flying off to some faraway country in continuous pursuit of their dreams, or settling in their corporate offices, or else getting married/having children. And suddenly it all seemed like everyone was headed somewhere [READ MORE]

to all the women i know, i bow to you today and for all days…
to all mothers, i thank you for your courage in bringing children into this world… for rearing them the best you know how… by standing by your man and working alongside him… by showing the world that you can do what your male counterparts can, sometimes even better… who says you are still the fairer sex?? you can definitely give as much, or more, as you can receive…
