Okay I was wrong. I mentioned that the girls will save Geoff but they didn’t. Being paired up with Chai Fonacier in the last leg of the voting session, Geoff was definitely not in a good position. Chai is known to be so good in getting along with her fellow academates while Geoff is known to be aloof and has a world of his own. Autistic? Joke. But his performance was really better than Chai’s. It’s just that the voters and the teachers didn’t like to save him.

I like Drae Ybañez ever since and Ken Dingle was also one of my bets before but I just couldn’t take Ken’s style anymore. He sounds like he is being strangled to death when hits high notes in his Di Na Natuto. Drae, on the other hand, somehow lacked power. He seems to be incapable of hitting very high notes when he sang Hang On.
But what truly made my night were Gian Magdangal and Pow Chavez. At first, I was even wondering why Gian choose Himala but I am glad that he really proved me wrong. This guy rocks and he really knows how to project like a pro. Pow looked so cute and her Nakapagtataka was perfect for her cute voice. I really the song. I heard she lost her mom and dad, and she is now playing both roles to support her siblings. That longing and that loneliness is always there everytime she sings. Wow, I have a feeling these two guys will make it to the Top 2.
Mau Marcelo became controversial because Ryan C. seems to like her very much and that she almost lost her chance on the top 12. But her rendition of Minsan Lang Kitang Iibigin didn’t really penetrate, at least to me. But I also know she can do better than that. Will the people vote for her this time? I hope so.

Storm scene in Makati
It would seem that everything’s getting back to normal after that freaky storm, Milenyo (who comes up with these names anyways?) passed by and wreaked havoc throughout the metropolis. Not since typhoon Osang has Manila been battered and bruised and suffered long time blackouts like recently. I guess not everyone expected this storm to be this big, even I who keeps track of the weather and even have an idea that it’s coming didn’t expect this to be that strong, hence I was outside almost the whole day and experienced this storm’s passing. I’m sure each and everyone has a story to tell, well here’s some highlights during that day, though not extravagant as an action movie, but I find it surreal and unexpected.

Dear Jesus,
What’s the deal with that typhoon?! I mean, I prepared a month in advance for my 25th birthday party! The stage was set for an overnight swimming party at a resort in Miramonte! I invited a lot of people! A lot of them confirmed! And then you wash away my bash with a bigass typhoon?! What the hell, dude! Please tell your Almighty Dad that I was pissed off. Not only did this “Bagyong Milenyo” asshole ruined my birthday, it ruined our house too! No, scrap that. It ruined our entire town! My body is still hurting because of all the heavy lifting before, during, and after the damage of this stupid typhoon. This 25th birthday gift is so totally not cool.
I know of this young, twenty-something girl who’s having an affair with a married man. The man, supposedly going through a rough patch in his marriage and is ‘temporarily’ separated, has sought solace in the arms of this naive, young virgin. Of course, she only knows what he’s told her as they see each other in secret – and since they have no mutual friends to verify anything’s he’s said, she’s taken his word as gospel.

The wind gusts started around 11:00 am on Thursday; a couple of hours later, electrical power was completely shut down in my neighborhood here in Quezon City. It was only finally restored at 9:00 pm, Saturday.
We just survived one of the biggest calamities to hit the country ever. I’m just thankful, but if you did lose your home, property or loved ones during that horrible storm, my heart and prayers go out to you.
