The 10 Wild Card hopefuls and their performances:Steph Lazaro started the night right with Total Eclipse of the Heart. Francis said she was hitting the notes right but didn’t like the way she was holding her hair and it was too emotional. I didn’t get that though. Perhaps Francis meant to say it was kinda OA. Ryan C. said that she made a good start and raised the competition to a great level.

Gian Magdangal sang Lately and the judges were impressed. Ryan C. even proclaimed Gian as the best male performer in the competition and hoped that he will be there in the finals.

Ting Otero’s interpretation of Sanay Maghintay ang Walang Hanggan didn’t work, according to Mr. C. The song needs haplos and longing, which were absent or lacking in Ting’s performance. Francis said he has been rooting for Ting ever since but he complained about the song choice. It just didn’t connect, he said. Pilita was evading from giving a sensible remark, and focused on the “Davao is not the place to look for singers” issue. I couldn’t listen to Mamita anymore. Her comments are not very helpful.

The judges expected Onyx Culala to screw up, but felt relieved that he didn’t. The pollen from his Wildflower must have irritated Francis’ throat that’s why the latter couldn’t give a more sensible comment. “Interesting” is just not interesting. Pilita said he has improved a lot and Ryan said he didn’t expect him to sing gud but he was happy that he sang great. It just might be too late for him to catch up though. Well Onyx fans, prove Ryan C wrong and vote for your idol.

One of the things I noticed about Winnipeg when I first came here is that there are many murals all over the city. There are murals on walls of old buildings, on walls of stores, schools, community centres, even under bridges. I’m not actually an art enthusiast but I enjoy looking at these works of art.

This summer I heard Janet Stewart of CKY News announce that there was a Mural Fest going on in Winnipeg. Since then, my kids and I were always on the lookout whenever we were out to search for the entries of this Mural Fest. And only then did I take an interest in photographing the many murals of Winnipeg.

si pyro ay isang cute na three year old kid. tulad ng maraming normal na bata sa pilipinas, mahilig si pyro sa wrestling. in fact, alam niya na may SMACKDOWN sa pilipinas itong darating na october. pero hindi normal na batang pinoy si pyro. mayroon kasi siyang lung cancer and all his life ay laman siya ng hospital dahil kailangan niya ng surgery at chemotheraphy para matanggal ang tumor niya sa lungs.

during one of his chemo treatments, napanood ni pyro si batista. nasa pilipinas na pala itong pro wrestler na may dugong pinoy at umiikot sa mga mall para mag promote. biglang naglambing ang bata – baka raw pwedeng dumalaw si batista sa kanya. nakita niya kasi sa TV na maraming mga batang tulad niya ang lumalapit sa wrestler para magpakuha ng litrato.

baka naman mayroon nagbabasa nitong post na may kakilala sa mga organizer ng wrestling smackdown sa pilipinas ang pwedeng magmalasakit – sabihan nyo naman si batista na bumisita sa hospital ni pyro para naman matuwa ang bata kahit papano.

I wish that feeling of escaping from reality would last forever, but now I’m back to the real world. It’s a slow Sunday but I’m feeling the pressures again of being the family breadwinner plus he-who-must-not-be-named is making me feel lost again and it hurts. It may seem cowardly but I wish I could just get away.
