We’ve had another busy weekend. We’ve been invited to two birthday parties last Saturday.
The first one was for the one-year old daughter of a kumare, my middle son’s godmother. Reception was at a restaurant in downtown Chinatown. The invitation was for 12:00 noon and we arrived there at exactly 12:00 noon. Usually I would be hounding my husband to hurry up, but since I know that Filipinos usually come to these parties at least an hour late (we call this Filipino time), I just let him take his time. But the thing is, the parking lot was already full and we couldn’t get a free parking spot on the street either. We ended up paying $3.00 for parking. Well, it wasn’t that bad. And I was right. When we went inside the restaurant, only about half the guests had arrived.
Mod’s notes: I told Ting..”hey, you forgot to write the title..and she said, ‘ay..wala akong maisip na title, bahala ka nang maglagay..” huwat? hanube itesh? hehe..so now, we are inviting you dear readers to give us suggestions. Basahin ninyong maigi at ilagay sa comment ninyo ang palagay ninyo ay akmang taytol. We will ask Ting to choose at gagawin nating title ang idea ng mananalo na may naghihintay na malaking presyo, maple leaf and sakura petals.

My sex life is active and I am no different from any other woman my age. I get hot too not just sometimes but all the time. For those who say that life begins at forty, I believe them. In fact, I enjoy sex now more than I did when I was twenty-five. For those who say that sex has become dull for them when they turned forty, my condolences to them. Sex is always in the corner of my mind, in everything I do. Phone sex with my husband, oh yes, I do that too.

Its the small things that make some products stand out of the rest and this is one example of that.
Government spending is going down, while debt service is going up. At the rate it is currently going, all our money in the future will go to bankers.
The Manila Times has listed potential winners and losers in charter change. Editor Fort Yerro see Joe de Venecia as a winner. Representative Imee Marcos see it the other way.

Besides the daily grind of commerce, food is one of the main attractions of Chinatown.
I heard about some of its good restaurants such as the Lido along Alonzo Street; the original Lingnam Restaurant known for its fresh noodles; and the eateries along the estero such as Grand House that people rave about.
And for some quick meals Chinatown offers the original Mey Lin along Carvajal Street, Shin Tong Yon on Benavidez Street, and Ha Yuan Restaurant on Masangkay Street.
Over at Quintin Paredes Street there are the Golden Palace, Ocean Dragon and Dragon Seed. For afternoon tea and dimsum, some old-timers prefer the Wah Yuen Restaurant along Escolta Street. I was also told about other fine restaurants for lauriat dining such as the Royal Garden and Green Lake for seafood; Chuan Kee for its five treasure soup; and of course, The President Restaurant.
This is for all those who’ve fallen in love with someone who didn’t love them back. I just hope you’re not there anymore… or wake up soon =)
There’s a fine, fine line
between a fairy tale, and a lie.
And there’s a fine, fine line
between “you’re wonderful” and “goodbye.”
I guess if someone doesn’t love you back
it isn’t such a crimeBut there’s a fine, fine line
between love,
and a waste of your time

What if Cory Aquino and Imelda Marcos were, in fact, batchmates in college? What if they were not just batchmates, but best friends? And what if, contrary to what everyone knows, there was a story that has never been told? More…
What I am about to discuss in this post, though, is the single greatest scrap of wisdom I’ve learned in those six years. Like Prometheus bringing fire to illuminate the world of Man, I, in characteristic benevolence, shall now bestow unto you such knowledge. Listen closely now because this is the sage piece of advice that would ensure that you make it in the business of television writing. This is David Mamet ripping out the final page of the script from his typewriter. This is the O. Henry ending. This is the money shot. Ready? Here it is:
so this is it. i am officially in love again. many people think he’s just the wrong guy and i am definitely wasting my time. no we’re not together…yes i am sure i am leaving…no, he is not sure if he’s leaving…and i just want to think about everything that’s happening when i get back. i never thought things would be this way. i’ve known joe for almost 3 months now…and…i gave him a part of me that i can never get back. so this is it. i’m officially crazy, and my bestfriends are worried that i’m going to get hurt…i know i will…it’s just a matter of time.

How do you know if you love to blog? First and foremost, you will feel signs of addiction to blogging. You love to read others’ blogs and, at the same time, post in your blog. Another is you begin thinking about the things you’ll be writing the next time. You become restless each day that you don’t post anything in your blog…

I’ve read the papers and I’ve seen the tv reports. Being a graduate of a health science course and being a board passer myself, It’s hard not to give notice. I don’t know when it all started but since the issue just won’t die down, I might as well share my thoughts on it.
There was a leakage in the recent Nursing Board Exam, that’s a fact. The SM Manila review, the powerpoint presentation, no one’s denying that it happened. It all comes down to 2 things. First, who’s to blame? And second, is a retake in order?
A niece is getting married. “Woohoo!” Or so you’d think. Well, that’s far from what the clan is feeling right now. She’s become this epitome of uncouthness and tactlessness. Her attitude has been less than exemplary lately. She now behaves like she was just crowned queen of some principality, sans the breeding.

From the 21-25 August, Don Bosco Cambodia hosted the East Asia- Oceania Region’s Salesian Brother’s Seminar. On the 22nd, although some of our students had to present some dances, I chose to remain in Sihanoukville, until a telephone call from one of them beckoned me to take the bus to Phnom Penh. That evening I met my good old friends, many whom I haven’t seen in years especially those whom I’ve worked with in Papua New Guinea, Thailand and Philippines.

The Squid and the Whale is a very interesting film. The story begins as the husband (Jeff Daniels) and wife (Laura Linney) are on the verge of separating. It is told from the point of view of the children. They see the classic signs — their parents always fighting and the dad sleeping on the couch. And then one night they have a family meeting. The parents explain to them that they are separating and having a joint custody and how they are going to split the days of the week between the two sons. It’s funny how they thought that they have arranged how to split everything until the youngest son asks, “What about the cat?” Oh yeah, they forgot about the cat.
When I was in Grade Three our science teacher gave us an exam about our solar system. One of the questions was:
How many planets are there in our solar system?
Now, at the age of ten or nine I already knew I was a fokking genius so I confidently answered:
We have eight planets in our solar system, you stupid cyoont!
Imagine my horror when the test results came and I saw that I had ONE MISTAKE. An outrage, surely! Angry enough to spit nails, I went to my teacher. The dialogue went thus:
SQUID: Teacher, I think you’re a stupid cyoont.
