The Unglorious Death of Togashi Raizen

Wednesday
Jun 28,2006

Togashi Raizen - youngest son of a tainted Mirumoto and brother of a Topaz Magistrate - has spent the last ten years of his life in Kyuden Toketsu, the Crab stronghold, in an as-yet unsuccessful attempt to cleanse his family’s shame. But must the son always bear the sins of the father - and brother?

COMELEC History

Wednesday
Jun 28,2006

As in many other countries, election management in the Philippines was not always entrusted to an independent Constitutional body. Before the creation of the COMELEC in 1940, the responsibility for running elections fell upon the Executive Bureau - an office under the Department of the Interior. Upon the abolition of the Bureau, the Secretary of the Interior assumed the task directly, exercising immediate supervision over all government officials designated by law to perform election duties.

However, the close political relationship between the Secretary of the Interior and the President engendered the apprehension that elections could easily be subverted to serve the interests of the incumbent. This led to the widespread perception that elections were tainted with partisan bias, and could therefore not be free and honest.

Superman Returns today… But I’m not just gonna march to the theaters and drool over Brandon Routh. Not yet anyway…

In other news, there has been rumors spreading in the online Potter-world about author J.K. Rowling planning to “kill” Harry in the 7th and last installment of the book.

Here freshie, freshie!

Wednesday
Jun 28,2006

(The title should be read the way you would call you cats, “Here kitty, kitty!” Haha! =p)

Two weeks of classes have gone by and like other 1st semester starters, school has been pretty interesting particularly because of the newest members of the campus – the freshies!

I had my first encounter with a freshie on the very first day of class (June 13). As always, I rode an Ikot jeep to my first class. And as I sat down inside the jeepney, there was this young-looking guy seated opposite me, whose attire screamed freshie, freshie, freshie! Haha! His fashion sense was pretty okay and simple – he sure doesn’t seem to come from those science high schools, hehe!

Reeyuh has asked the question, “How do you know someone, or something is worth fighting for?”

That actually made me think…

And think…

And think some more.

Yes, how do I know?

Now the answer I may give right now may sound very simplistic to you.

Maybe it’s because I’m not completely in love right now that I may sound so damn logical.

But right now, here’s how I assess if something is ever worth fighting for:

First, I look into the situation and ask myself, “What do I want?”

Salvation Through Works???

Wednesday
Jun 28,2006

To be saved, Catholic doctrine requires the continual performance of good
works.

“Even though incorporated into the Church, one who
does not however persevere in charity is not saved.” Pg. 222, #837

These works include baptism (pg. 320, #1257), various sacraments (pg. 292,
#1129) plus many additional works.

Once again the teachings of Catholicism oppose God’s Word, which states that
salvation cannot be earned, but is a free and undeserved gift of
God:

No 11. graft and corruption

Last February and, just recently, this month of May, I had a one-on-one discussion with fellow local engineers who happen to have a wide range of experience in developing and implementing modern day, as well as, old technology to meet the human needs and for profit, as well. And like me, we always like to discuss the recent development and inventions related to our fields. Read the entire entry …

The Proof Of Concept

PSP2.6 Users don’t give up hope yet there is still a very big chance for HOMEBREW

Full kernel mode access on firmware 2.50 and 2.60! Two programmers by the names of hitchhikr and Neural have released a proof-of-concept EBOOT which takes advantage of a new exploit discovered in Sony’s 2.50 and 2.60 firmware revisions.

What does this mean? Well it means all the lovely homebrew compatible with firmware version 1.50 only (Device Hook, DAX, iR Shell, etc…) will now be available on 2.50/2.60! Please note, this exploit does not exist in FW 2.0 and 2.01. And you will require Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories in order to execute this EBOOT.

The proof of concept simply creates a kernel memory dump in the root of your memory stick.

As for me, I always come in late :) I check first for feedback and any bugs. Once those bugs has been fixed then that is the time I jump into the bandwagon. From experience the first release will always have bugs.

For a time– a rather foolish time, as you may as well say so– I even had the gall to tell the world at large that it was of little consequence to me; that it was the least of my more pressing, more bohoepicurean concerns, money– as long, of course, as I had it.

As long as mommy was there to refill my ravaged wallet or rouse my bank account from its deathbed, I couldn’t have given a smidgen of a damn about money or however I intend to earn some for myself the someday I wish would never come.

But it has.

It has to, at least. It’s just painfully bound to and I should start learning to rid myself of the bondage of my still suckling on my mother’s metaphorical breast.

I’d like to take this moment to thank myself for that really bad, really vivid mental picture.

And moving on.

Dear DtH,

My boyfriend and I have this dirty little secret: we like to record our private acts with a camera phone so that whenever we’re apart we can look at our steamy videos and bear missing each other.

However, I lost my phone the other month, and our videos started to spread like wildfire. We now can’t leave home without people staring at us. Once, a guy even tried to get my autograph! Now my family wants to kill my boyfriend. He is in hiding. I miss him so.

DtH, I badly need your advice. What do I do? The burdens of life are so heavy.
